ELON – The Elon men's basketball team signed Class of 2026 standouts Kobe Edwards and Brady Sehlhorst last week. The two future Phoenix – Edwards, a 6-foot-2, 160-pound guard from Wilson, and Sehlhorst, a 6-foot-7, 205-pound forward from Chicago – will join the Elon program ahead of the 2026-27 season.
Â
"We're really excited to welcome Kobe and Brady to the Elon Basketball family," said Elon head coach
Billy Taylor. "Both young men exude our program's values in addition to being talented and competitive individuals who are committed to putting in the work it takes to win. We believe they'll make an immediate impact on our team and represent Elon the right way on and off the court."
Â
Edwards, a four-star prospect, is the fourth-ranked player in the state of North Carolina by ESPN.com. He'll finish his prep career at the Greenfield School in Wilson and has been a standout player with Boo Williams on the Nike EYBL circuit.
Â
"Kobe is a high-level playmaker with great explosiveness and athleticism," Taylor said. "He has the ability to create for himself and for his teammates, and he brings a competitiveness that will raise the level of everyone around him. We love his energy and drive to keep improving."
Â
Sehlhorst, a two-time ICBA All-State selection as a junior and senior at Notre Dame College Preparatory (Niles, Illinois), averaged more than 23 points, five rebounds and two assists per game while setting the school's single-season points record (671) last season. He's currently playing a postgraduate year at The Winchendon School in Winchendon, Massachusetts. Sehlhorst has played for Meanstreets on the Nike EYBL circuit.
Â
"Brady is an extremely tough and skilled wing who can really shoot the basketball with deep range," Taylor added. "His versatility and willingness to compete on both ends of the floor make him a great fit for how we want to play. He's a high-character player who will bring toughness and consistency to our program."
