BOSTON – Elon graduate forward
Chandler Cuthrell has earned a spot on the early-season watch list for the Lou Henson Award, presented annually to the top mid-major player in Division I men's basketball, CollegeInsider.com announced Thursday.
Â
Cuthrell is one of only four Division I players averaging at least 21.0 points (21.5) and 7.0 rebounds (7.2) per game this season, joining Duke's Cameron Boozer, BYU's AJ Dybantsa and Texas Tech's JT Toppin. The 6-foot-8 forward ranks 15th nationally in scoring and fourth among Lou Henson Award watch list selections, having scored 20-plus points in nine of 11 games while recording three double-doubles. He has also lived at the free-throw line, ranking 10th nationally with 94 attempts while shooting 70.2% (66-of-94). Cuthrell is shooting 53.4% from the field.
