Elon Takes Three-Match Win Streak To Coastal Carolina

Elon, N.C. - The Elon University women's tennis team heads to Conway, S.C. Tuesday for their sixth road match of the season. At 11-4 on the season and currently on a three-match win streak, the Elon Phoenix will face the 8-4 Coastal Carolina Chanticleers at 10:00 a.m.

Elon and Coastal Carolina share two common opponents so far this season: Wofford and Campbell. The Phoenix most recently beat Campbell 7-0, while the Chanticleers lost 4-3 in early February. Both teams lost to Wofford with the Phoenix losing 4-3 and Coastal Carolina losing 5-2.

  • The Phoenix and Chanticleers have not played against each other in over two decades. 
  • The Chanticleers have a standout freshman, Brunelle Kouam. With a record of 9-1, Kouam has a singles win streak of eight matches. 
  • Coastal Carolina is coached by Catherine Hewitt, who has been with the program since 2011. Hewitt is assisted by Kurt Caster.
