Women's Tennis To Host CAA Opponent North Carolina A&T Wednesday

Elon, N.C. - The Elon University women's tennis team is set to host North Carolina A&T on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center. This match will mark the Phoenix's second of six consecutive home matches as well as the second against a CAA opponent this year.

FOLLOW ALONG
ABOUT THE PHOENIX

After the Phoenix was handed a tough 4-3 loss on Saturday against East Carolina, Elon is 11-6 overall, going 7-3 at home. The Phoenix holds a singles record of 68-27 and a doubles record of 30-18. The Phoenix haven't secured the doubles point in their last two matches, so Wednesday is an opportunity for Elon to rewrite the narrative.

As the season has progressed, sophomores Mariana Reding and Simone Bergeron have made a name for themselves as a strong doubles pair. Reding and Bergeron are 12-3 with a six-match win streak.

Both freshmen have been particularly impressive in singles play this season. Heidi Bulger is 11-4 with a five-match win streak as she has found her rhythm on the court. Lisa Kranec, despite losing her last singles match, has shown great skill in singles. Kranec is 13-2, the best singles record on the team.

Lone senior Miray Konar only has five regular-season matches left before the CAA tournament. The CAA tournament will mark the end of her time as an undergraduate student at Elon. Konar has an individual doubles record of 7-7 and a singles record of 4-1. Konar will be recognized on Senior Day, which will occur at JPTC on April 13 for Elon's match against William & Mary.

SCOUTING NC A&T
