Men’s Tennis Adds Two Matches

Elon, N.C. – Elon University men's tennis coach Maciek Sykut has announced the addition of two tennis matches to close out the regular season.

Following Sunday's Senior Day home match against Norfolk State, Elon would have had 12 days off until the CAA Tournament April 25-27. Instead, the Phoenix will play twice during that timeframe.

Elon will face No. 62 St. John's, currently 21-2 on the season, in Camden, S.C. on Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. The Red Storm are on a six-match win streak, which includes a 5-2 win over No. 43 Yale, and a 4-2 victory over CAA foe Drexel. St. John's has also defeated CAA opponents Monmouth (4-3) and Hofstra (7-0) this year.

Following that match, Elon will host College of Charleston Thursday at Jimmy Powell Tennis Center. Charleston is 7-8 on the season and 1-2 in conference play. The Cougars have losses to Drexel (4-3) and UNCW (7-0) on the ledger, along with a 6-1 win over Campbell.

Elon heads into Sunday's match with Norfolk State on a five-match win streak at 8-6 overall. The Phoenix began the year 0-4, but have rebounded to win 8-of-10 matches, including wins over CAA opponents Campbell (4-3) and William & Mary (5-2).
