Elon Football Announces Staff Title Changes

ELON – Head coach Tony Trisciani and the Elon football program announced title changes for three coaches on the Elon football staff on Monday afternoon.

Milo Austin will serve as Assistant Head Coach and Special Teams Coordinator. Matt Ford will assume the roles of Offensive Run-Game Coordinator and Tight Ends coach. Matt Christian will serve as the Offensive Pass-Game Coordinator and Receivers Coach.

Coaches Milo Austin, Matt Ford and Matt Christian all received new staff title upgrades.

"It is important to me that our staff is provided with opportunities to grow professionally and are constantly challenged to learn and take on new responsibilities when they are ready for them," Trisciani said.

Austin, now in his fourth season with the Phoenix football program, previously served as the special teams coordinator and cornerbacks coach.

"Milo has a wide lens perspective and a good feel for the pulse of our program," Trisciani said. "He has built meaningful relationships with players on both sides of the football and will be able to assist me with long-term program planning and roster management."

Ford, a third-year coach for the Phoenix, held the sole title of tight ends coach previously.

"Matt has been heavily involved in our run game schemes and how they tie into our overall offensive system," Trisciani said. "He has experience as an offensive coordinator and play caller. I am confident that he will be able to support Doug Martin during the week and from the booth on gameday."

Christian arrived at Elon in February as the wide receivers coach and will now take on added responsibilities with the Offensive Pass-Game Coordinator title.

"Matt has been able to get us up and running quickly with our new passing game philosophy and schemes," Trisciani said. "Having played quarterback in this offense for Doug Martin at New Mexico State, and coached in it, Matt has really accelerated the learning curve for our receivers. Matt also has coordinator experience at the University of San Diego and learned a great deal working closely with Kenny Dillingham at Arizona State the past two seasons."

Elon will begin its season at Duke on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. ET in Durham.
