ELON – The Elon women's basketball team returns home this weekend to host College of Charleston and Towson at Schar Center. Tipoff against the Cougars is slated for 7 p.m. Friday, while the matchup with the Tigers is set for 1 p.m. Sunday.
Friday's matchup against Charleston will be televised on WRAL-TV in addition to streaming on FloCollege. Fans can watch via Spectrum (Channel 1255), DIRECTV (Channel 80), DISH Network (Channel 253) or antenna (Channel 5.2).

- Towson (11-8, 4-3 CAA) went 1-1 last weekend, defeating Hofstra 58-55, before falling 68-45 at Drexel.
- The Tigers were picked to finish seventh in the 2025-26 CAA Preseason Poll, with India Johnson earning a spot on the All-CAA Preseason Second Team.
- Johnson leads Towson, averaging 14.2 PPG, ranking fourth in the CAA, while Zoli Khalil also averages double-figures at 10.3.
- Kayla Morris averages a team-high 6.5 rebounds per game, while Tilda Sjökvist is fifth in the CAA, averaging 3.3 assists per game.

1. A Clean Sweep Weekend
Elon women's basketball completed a weekend sweep, starting with a 67-60 win over North Carolina A&T at Schar Center Friday night.
Ashanti Fox led the team with 16 points, while
Laila Anderson added 15 and
Tamia Watkins contributed on the boards. The Phoenix followed with a 77-55 victory at Hampton, controlling the game from start to finish. The team's balanced attack featured four players in double figures, led by
Laila Anderson, who recorded a season-high 22 points, while
Tamia Watkins added a double-double with 15 rebounds and 13 points.
2. Rookie Runs It Back
Ashanti Fox earned her second straight CAA Rookie of the Week honor on Monday after an impressive performance against North Carolina A&T last Friday. She finished with 16 points on 6-for-12 shooting, including a perfect 3-for-3 at the free-throw line. She also contributed five rebounds, two assists, one steal, and two blocks. In conference play, Fox is averaging 12.0 points, 2.7 assists, and 1.7 three-pointers per game, while shooting 41.7% from the field, placing her among the top 20 players in the league in each category.
3. Watkins Fills Every Column
Tamia Watkins recorded her second double-double of the season against Hampton, finishing with 13 points and a season-high 15 rebounds, including 11 on the offensive glass. She shot 6-for-14 from the field and added two steals and a block in the win. Watkins also flirted with a double-double against N.C. A&T, posting nine points and seven rebounds. She is the only Phoenix player this year to record a double-double, leads the team with 5.0 rebounds per game, and shares the team lead with nine blocks this season.
4. Anderson Ascending
Senior guard
Laila Anderson has emerged as one of Elon's most consistent offensive threats over the last four games. Anderson is averaging 17.8 points per game during that span while shooting an efficient 55.8 percent from the field (24-of-43). She opened the stretch with 13 points at UNCW on Jan. 16, followed by a 21-point performance at College of Charleston on Jan. 18, where she knocked down four three-pointers. Anderson continued her strong play against North Carolina A&T, scoring 15 points on 5-of-8 shooting. To cap off the run, she scored a season-high 22 points at Hampton, going 8-for-13 from the field. She also went a perfect 4-for-4 at the free-throw line for the second straight game and added a season-high five steals.
5. Ranked and Rising
Elon has been one of the most statistically impactful teams in the conference, driven by its depth and defensive pressure. The Phoenix average 30.7 points per game off the bench, ranking first in the CAA and seventh nationally, with
Ashanti Fox leading the reserves at 8.4 points per game. Elon's defensive intensity has translated into takeaways, as the Phoenix force 20.7 turnovers per game, which ranks first in the CAA and 37th nationally. Elon has been equally effective in steals, ranking second in the CAA and 72nd nationally with 10.1 steals per game.
