RICHMOND, Va. – Three Elon women's lacrosse student-athletes garnered preseason All-CAA recognition as the conference unveiled its preseason awards and poll Thursday.
Ana Lee Vandiver and Reagan Kuehn were named to the Preseason All-CAA Team, while MJ Santa Barbara was tabbed as an honorable mention. The three honorees are tied for the third most in the conference, trailing just Stony Brook (5) and Towson (4).
Vandiver is Elon's top returning scorer from last season, having set career highs in both points (51) and goals (39) in 2025, both of which ranked second on the Phoenix. The 51 points were tied for the fourth most in a season in program history, while the 39 goals were tied for the fifth most by an Elon player in a season. The redshirt junior attacker led the Phoenix with 25 goals in conference games last season, the most ever by a Phoenix in conference play. She finished second on the Phoenix with a career-high 90 shots.
Kuehn continued to move up Elon's all-time leaders in ground balls and caused turnovers last season on her way to earning All-CAA Second Team honors. The junior defender paced the Phoenix with 23 caused turnovers, the sixth most in a season in program history, and 32 ground balls, the fourth most in Elon history and the most by a defender. She earned CAA Defensive Player of the Week for the first time last March and enters this season in the top 10 in both career ground balls (68) and caused turnovers (47) in program history.
Santa Barbara is Elon's all-time leader in draw controls (260) and enters her junior season 65 clear of second place. She secured 109 draw controls as a sophomore in just 11 games, marking her second straight season with 100-plus draw controls. Her 72 draw controls in conference play were the second most in a season in program history, falling just one short of the record she set as a freshman in 2024. Her 16 draw controls against Queens last season set a new program record for the most in a single game. She led the conference with 9.91 draw controls per contest in 2025.
For the second straight season, Elon was picked to finish fourth in the preseason poll, which is voted on by the conference's head coaches. The Phoenix received 31 points in the poll, coming behind Stony Brook, Drexel and Towson.
Elon is coming off a 9-8 season in 2025 that featured a second straight appearance in the CAA Tournament. The Phoenix went 5-3 in CAA play to earn the No. 4 seed in the tournament before falling to top-seeded and eventual champion Stony Brook in the semifinals.
The Phoenix opens its season Feb. 7 at VCU. Elon will play its first two games on the road before returning to Rudd Field for its home opener on Feb. 14 against Old Dominion.
