STARTING FIVE
1. Lessons Learned, Momentum Gained
Elon opened CAA play with a competitive home matchup against Monmouth, battling throughout but ultimately falling 77-62. LaNae' Corbett and Ashlee Shaw paced the Phoenix offensively, each contributing 15 points. The Phoenix responded with a big bounce-back statement win, defeating Hampton 84-75 to secure their first CAA victory of the season. Elon built momentum behind an efficient offensive performance from Corbett, who converted 14-of-16 field goals to finish with a career-high 28 points. Shaw led the Phoenix on the boards with a career-best 12 rebounds, while Kamryn Doty added a career-high 16 points and Ashanti Fox reached double figures with 11 points.

2. Corbett In Control
Sophomore forward LaNae' Corbett has emerged as Elon's most productive scorer in her first season with the Phoenix, tying for fifth in the CAA at 12.7 points per game. A transfer from Hofstra, Corbett is the team's most effective shooter at 51.4%, ranking third in the league, and leading the team in scoring on nine occasions. She is also disruptive on the defensive end, leading the team and ranking tied for 11th in the league with 1.6 steals per game, and has a team-high seven blocks this season.

3. The Shaw Surge
Sophomore forward Ashlee Shaw has begun to find her rhythm after a slow start to the season. After averaging only 11.3 minutes and 3.7 points per game through the first six games, Shaw has now posted three double-figure scoring performances and worked her way into the starting lineup, starting the last six games for the Phoenix. She recorded a career-high 18 points vs. N.C. Wesleyan and added a career-high 12 rebounds in the team's win over Hampton, while also sharing the team lead in three-point percentage at 35.7%.

4. Ranked and Rising
Elon has been one of the most statistically impactful teams in the conference, driven by its depth and defensive pressure. The Phoenix average 28.6 points per game off the bench, ranking first in the CAA and 27th nationally, with Ashanti Fox leading the reserves at 7.4 points per game. Elon's defensive intensity has translated into takeaways, as the Phoenix force 21 turnovers per game, which ranks first in the CAA and 41st nationally. From the perimeter, Elon has been equally effective, ranking second in the CAA and 69th nationally in three-point defense, while holding opponents to a 27.9 percent shooting percentage from beyond the arc.

5. Walker Heat Check
Tyana Walker joins the Elon roster after spending her last two seasons at Howard, where she was named 2024 MEAC Rookie of the Year and was selected to the All-Rookie Team. She scored a season-best 22 points to lead the Phoenix in a Nov. 27 loss to Tulane at the Paradise Jam, shooting 50 percent (8-for-16) from the floor and 67 percent (6-for-9) from three-point range, earning All-Tournament Team honors for the Harbor Division. Walker leads the team with 21 made three-pointers, tying for 10th in the conference, and is effectively shooting 35% from beyond the arc, ranking eighth in the conference. Walker reached double figures for the third time this season in the win over Norfolk State, sharing the team lead with 14 points while shooting 75% (3-for-4) from three-point range. Walker notched 100 three-pointers in her career in the team's win over Hampton.
