Elon Concludes Indoor Regular Season This Weekend

The Phoenix To Split For Meets At Liberty And Boston

ELON – The Elon women's track and field team will close out the indoor season this weekend with two meets as the Phoenix travels to the 12th annual Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational (Feb. 13-14) at Liberty University and the David Hemery Valentine Invitational in Boston (Feb. 14).

PERSONAL RECORDS SET OVER SPLIT WEEKEND 
  • The Phoenix competed in three meets over the past weekend, with performances at the VMI Winter Relays, the Doc Hale Invitational and the Camel City Sprints. 
  • Across the three meets, the Phoenix set 11 personal bests, with three athletes joining their respective Top-10 Program Performance lists and six improving their standing on those lists. 
AMONG THE CAA
  • Adriana Clarke is first in the CAA for the weight throw. Clarke recorded a personal best toss of 18.82 meters at the Camel City Sprints, moving into the No. 2 spot on Elon's all-time list.
  • Katie Blount is second in the CAA for the 3000 meters after her record-breaking performance at the Liberty Open. Blount is first on Elon's all-time list.
  • Abby Beville is second in the CAA for the mile after her performance at the Doc Hale Invite (4:48.49). Her performance moved her into fourth on Elon's all-time list. 
ELITE UNDER ELLISTON
  • Elon Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Mark Elliston is in his 20th season at the helm of the Phoenix. Under his guidance, Elon has captured a combined seven CAA titles in indoor and outdoor track & field, along with four runner-up finishes.
  • A six-time CAA Women's Track & Field Coach of the Year, Elliston and his staff coached 10 All-CAA honorees at last year's indoor championships, including two event champions. The Phoenix also saw three school records fall and several program top-10 marks added during the season. 

ON DECK
The Phoenix will travel back to Boston for the 2026 CAA Indoor Track and Field Championships on February 22 and 23.
