ELON – The Elon women's tennis team (4-2) continues its homestand at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center this weekend with a pair of matches. The Phoenix will host Wofford (3-2) on Saturday at noon before welcoming Davidson (5-1) on Sunday for a 1 p.m. tilt.

The Matchups
- Elon leads the head-to-head against Wofford, 9-6. Last season was the first meeting between the former Southern Conference rivals since 2014, with the Terriers scratching out a 4-3 victory in Spartanburg.
- The Phoenix has won four straight home encounters with Wofford, the most recent of which came in 2014. Elon is 4-2 in its home matches against the Terriers.
- Wofford's victory last season snapped Elon's nine-match winning streak in the series.
- The all-time series between Elon and Davidson is knotted at 11-11 entering Sunday's match.
- The Phoenix has won five of the last six meetings in the series, which includes 6-1 victories each of the last two meetings.
- Elon has won seven straight home meetings against the Wildcats.
- After Davidson won the first eight matches in the head-to-head, Elon has responded with 11 victories in the last 14 matchups.

Last Time Out
- Elon opened its season-long five-match homestand Wednesday with a 7-0 sweep over North Carolina A&T, winning all nine matches across singles and doubles.
- The Phoenix took the doubles point with wins on all three courts. Lisa Kranec and Cornelia Kack posted Elon's first victory of the day on Court 3 shortly before Simone Bergeron and Mariana Reding clinched the point for the Phoenix with a win at the No. 1 spot. Madison Cordisco and Alexis Nyborg rounded out doubles with a tiebreak victory on Court 2.
- Elon won the first four singles matches to finish in straight sets, highlighted by Nathalie Marinovitch's first career dual victory in her spring debut with the Phoenix. The freshman won 6-4, 6-4 at the No. 6 spot.
- Bergeron, Reding and Kranec all tallied their second wins of the day with comfortable singles wins.
- The Phoenix won a pair of match tiebreaks to polish off the sweep. Kack lost the first set on Court 2 but stormed back to win the second set 6-1 before pitching a shutout in a 10-0 match tiebreak triumph. At the No. 5 spot, Nyborg dropped a marathon second-set tiebreak, 12-10, but rallied in the match tiebreak, winning the final two points for an 11-9 win.
- The sweep was Elon's second of the season and first since Feb. 6 against NC Wesleyan.
About The Phoenix
- Elon won its first ever CAA championship in the spring, winning the CAA Tournament at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center with a victory over three-time defending champion William & Mary in the final.
- The Phoenix earned the CAA's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament and faced No. 10 Tennessee in the opening round. Elon finished the season with a 19-6 overall record, which included a 15-2 mark at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.
- Simone Bergeron returns for her junior season after a breakout campaign last spring that saw her take home CAA Women's Tennis Player of the Year. Bergeron went 12-9 playing No. 1 singles and clinched Elon's CAA title with her three-set victory against William & Mary. She also went 20-4 in doubles and earned First Team All-CAA recognition in both doubles and singles.
- Bergeron's primary doubles partner last season was Mariana Reding, who also earned First Team All-CAA honors in doubles. Reding, who returns this season as a junior, went 16-6 playing Nos. 2-4 singles and won 18 doubles contests alongside Bergeron in the spring.
- Senior Helen Sarikulaya also received All-CAA recognition in both singles (Third Team) and doubles (Second Team). She won 12 singles matches, eight of which came at the No. 2 spot, to go along with 13 victories in doubles.
- Lisa Kranec earned All-CAA Second Team recognition in doubles after tallying 12 wins alongside Sarikulaya. She also posted 17 singles victories in her freshman campaign, with 13 coming at the No. 6 spot.
- Also back for the Phoenix is senior Madison Cordisco, who finished second on the team last season with 17 singles triumphs. She went 14-4 at the No. 5 position.
- Elon welcomes three newcomers this season – Cornelia Kack, Alexis Nyborg and Nathalie Marinovitch.
- Kack joined the Phoenix after earning All-CAA Third Team honors in doubles last season as a freshman at Delaware. Nyborg came to Elon following two successful seasons at UNC Asheville, where she earned All-Big South First Team honors in singles in 2025. Marinovitch, a native of Cochabamba, Bolivia, is Elon's lone freshman.
- Elon is led by reigning CAA Coach of the Year Elizabeth Anderson, who is in her 22nd season leading the Phoenix. She is joined by first-year assistant coach Allie Gretkowski, who played college tennis at South Carolina and Louisville.
Kack Attack
- Kack's Elon career is off to a prolific start, as the sophomore is tied for the team lead in total wins this spring (8).
- Kack earned CAA Co-Player of the Week honors on Feb. 17 after a dominant stretch in which she posted multiple singles and doubles wins for the Phoenix.
- Prior to her matchup against No. 3 North Carolina, Kack had recorded singles and doubles victories in three straight matches, dropping just eight total games across those singles wins and claiming three 6-0 sets during the run.
- Her streak was snapped against the Tar Heels, but she continued her strong play by taking a set off Oby Kajuru, the No. 7-ranked player in the ITA standings, pushing the nationally ranked Tar Heel to three sets at the No. 2 singles position.
- Kack has also formed one of Elon's most reliable doubles pairings alongside Kranec, with the duo leading the team in doubles wins this spring (4).
- All four of Kack's singles wins have come at the No. 2 position, with three coming in straight sets.
Connect Four
- Three Phoenix are tied with Kack for a team-high four singles wins – Reding, Kranec and Nyborg.
- Reding has done her work at the No. 3 position this spring, with wins in four of her last five outings. The junior has not dropped a set in any of her four victories.
- Reding is 2-0 in tiebreak sets this season, which included a second-set tiebreak win against Liberty to secure a crucial victory for the Phoenix.
- Kranec has also been efficient in her singles wins, with all four coming in straight sets at the No. 4 spot. Like Reding, Kranec is also 2-0 in tiebreaks, with one of the triumphs coming in the opening set against North Carolina's Thea Rabman, who was No. 90 in the ITA singles rankings.
- In her last two singles victories against George Washington and North Carolina A&T, Kranec has dropped just six games, losing no more than two games in any of the four sets.
- Nyborg has been a strong presence at the No. 5 singles spot, winning four of her last five matches. Nyborg also won her first set at North Carolina and forced opponent Claire Hill into a final frame.
- Elon has swept Nos. 2-5 singles in all four of its wins this season and is 16-8 overall at those four spots in the lineup.
Super Simone
- Bergeron had a prolific sophomore campaign, becoming the first Elon player to win both CAA Player of the Year and CAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player.
- She picked up 20 doubles victories in her sophomore campaign, tied for the third most in a season by an Elon player.
- All 12 of Bergeron's singles victories last spring came at the No. 1 position, which included the CAA title clinching win against William & Mary.
- Bergeron has compiled 62 dual wins across singles and doubles in her first three campaigns with the Phoenix. She won at least 12 matches in both singles and doubles in each of her first two seasons.
- This fall, Bergeron was selected as the CAA's singles representative at ITA Conference Masters. She was the first Elon player to compete at the event.
- Bergeron has paired with Reding for three wins at the top doubles spot this spring and won in both doubles and singles in Elon's most recent match against North Carolina A&T.
Doubles Success
- Elon has won the doubles point in all four of its victories this season.
- The Phoenix has lost just one match in those four winning doubles points. Elon swept its three doubles matches against North Carolina A&T in its most recent contest.
- Of the five Elon doubles pairs to play together this spring, four have delivered victories. Cordisco and Nyborg paired up for the first time Wednesday against the Aggies and picked up a tiebreak win.
- Kack and Kranec lead the Phoenix with four wins at the No. 3 spot. Bergeron and Reding are close behind with three victories at the top spot in the lineup.
The Anderson Era
- Head coach Elizabeth Anderson is in her 22nd season leading the maroon and gold.
- Anderson has turned Elon into a consistent winner. Under her guidance, the Phoenix has posted 19 consecutive winning seasons, all of which have included double-digit victories.
- Since joining the CAA in the 2014-15 season, Elon has won at least one match in all 10 of its CAA Tournament appearances. Anderson led the program to the CAA championship match for the first time in 2022 and its first CAA title in 2025 to earn an NCAA Tournament bid.
- In Elon's final season in the Southern Conference, Anderson led the maroon and gold to the program's first NCAA Tournament berth in 2013. The Phoenix won its first Southern Conference championship that season to qualify.
- Since taking over as head coach in 2005, Anderson has tallied 312 victories at Elon. Her winning percentage is 62% in 502 career matches.
- Anderson was named CAA Coach of the Year in 2025, the second time in her career she earned the honor.
- Elon has also been a strong performer in the classroom during Anderson's tenure. The program has earned All-ITA Academic Team honors in 20 consecutive seasons.
Home Court Reign
- Wednesday marked the start of a five-match homestand for Elon.
- The Phoenix enters this weekend unbeaten at home this season, winning all four contests, though only two have been played at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.
- Since 2020, Elon has compiled a dominant 76-10 record on its home courts. The Phoenix has not dropped more than two home matches in a single season during that span.
- Last year marked Elon's strongest home performance of the stretch, finishing 15-2 for an .882 winning percentage.
Scouting Wofford
- Wofford enters Saturday's match with a 3-2 record this spring. The Terriers have played just once since Feb. 12, losing 4-3 to Austin Peay on Feb. 22.
- The Terriers have wins this season against Emmanuel, Converse and North Greenville.
- Katie Godfree and Ella Suk lead the Terriers with four singles wins each. Suk, who was part of Elon's CAA championship roster last season, spent two seasons with the Phoenix, racking up 30 dual wins across doubles and singles.
- Quinn Bernthal has won a pair of matches at the top singles spot this season for the Terriers.
- Wofford is a combined 9-0 at the Nos. 4 and 6 singles positions this spring.
- Godfree and Bernthal have combined for four doubles wins this spring to lead the Terriers. Grace Stout and Marie Henriksen (3-0) are also unbeaten as a duo.
- Wofford is led by head coach Krissy Hall, who is in her 14th season leading the program.
Scouting Davidson
- The Wildcats are 5-1 this season with wins in consecutive matches entering Sunday.
- Davidson swept Presbyterian, 7-0, in its most recent match on Wednesday.
- Sunday will be Davidson's second road match of the season. The Wildcats defeated Gardner-Webb in Boiling Springs on Feb. 14 in their only match away from home.
- Ellie Hammond and Bryson Langford lead the Wildcats with four singles wins apiece. Langford has played the No. 2 spot with Hammond playing the No. 3 position.
- Savanna Kollock has been Davidson's No. 1 singles player this season and holds a 3-2 record entering Sunday.
- Kerri Rothenberg is unbeaten in singles this spring with a 3-0 record playing the No. 5 spot.
- Langford and Kollock are 4-1 as Davidson's top doubles duo this spring. Hammond and Charlotte Calderwood have also delivered four wins at the No. 2 spot.
- Susanne Depka is in her ninth season as Davidson's head coach.
