ELON – The Elon women's lacrosse team and head coach Josh Hexter announced the addition of Kerry Nease to the Phoenix staff as an assistant coach Thursday.
"Kerry is a fierce competitor, hard worker and has a huge passion for the game," Hexter said. "Kerry is also invested in helping create the best overall experience for our student-athletes on and off the field and is already having a positive impact on the team."
Nease joins the Phoenix after a four-year playing career as a midfielder at Duke University. Nease finished her career fourth in Duke's program history with 226 draw controls, which included a team-best 112 as a senior in 2025, the fifth most by a Blue Devil in a single season.
Nease also racked up 16 goals, 27 points, 26 ground balls and 18 caused turnovers for a Duke team that made three NCAA Tournament appearances in her four seasons with the program. She earned a spot on the 2025 All-ACC Second Team and was also an Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-South Region Second Team selection.
"I'm excited to join the experienced coaching staff at Elon and help contribute to a championship chasing team," Nease said.
In her four years with the Blue Devils, Nease was a four-time ACC Academic Honor Roll honoree and a three-time All-ACC Academic Team selection. She was also named to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll in 2024 and 2025.
After finishing her career as a student-athlete at Duke in May 2025, Nease competed professionally in Australia, winning a club premiership in Melbourne with Footscray Lacrosse Club in August. She then in Lacrosse Australia Major League Sixes with the Adelaide Redbellies in November.
