ELON – Elon football head coach Tony Trisciani and the Phoenix announced the addition of 14 players for the 2026 spring football roster Friday. The list of players includes six collegiate transfers and eight freshmen who early enrolled at Elon.
 
Elon's six collegiate transfers include one quarterback, two offensive linemen, a linebacker and two defensive backs.
 
Brady Stober
Quarterback | 6-0 / 195 | Hickory, N.C. | Samford

• Joined the Phoenix during the Winter Term.
• Spent his freshman season at Samford.
• Threw for over 1,200 yards in ten games as a Bulldog in 2025.
• Scored nine total touchdowns in just five starts.
• Completed better than 62% of his passes.
• Named Stats Perform National Freshman of the Week after his performance against VMI. Stober completed 34-of-43 passes for 285 yards and three touchdowns.
• One-time Southern Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against the Keydets.
• Played his high school football for Hickory High School. A two-time conference player of the year, he led the Red Tornadoes to a state championship his junior season. He totaled more than 9,000 high school passing yards and 106 touchdowns during his three years on varsity.

 
Ethan Gonzalez-Bonilla
Offensive Line | 6-3 / 305 | Stephens City, Va. | Christopher Newport

• Played for two seasons at Christopher Newport University.
• Appeared in 11 games at left tackle for the Captains during his sophomore season.
• Helped lead Christopher Newport to a perfect 10-0 regular season and a New Jersey Athletic Conference title.
• Named a first-team all-NJAC offensive lineman.

 
Gabe Navarro
Offensive Line | 6-4 / 297 | Portsmouth, Va. | North Carolina A&T

• Transferred in from in-state, CAA rival North Carolina A&T.
• Started ten games for A&T in 2025 at left tackle.
• Played previously at Virginia State for two seasons. Played 10 games in 2024 for the Trojans alongside Elon running back Jimmyll Williams.

 
Derek Hite
Linebacker | 6-0 / 220 | Loretto, Pa. | VMI

• Played 12 games at linebacker during his freshman season at VMI.
• Selected to the all-SoCon freshman defense.
• Named a 4^th team Phil Steele Freshman all-American.
• Hite ranked fourth on the Keydets in total tackles with 61.0. He collected 3.0 tackles-for-loss, 0.5 sacks, a QB hurry and two pass breakups.

 
Remington Moss
Defensive Back | 6-1 / 194 | Dumfries, Va. | Wisconsin

• Spent his true freshman season at Wisconsin but did not see game action.
• Rated a four-star recruit by On3.
• Earned first-team Virginia all-state honors as a senior, tallying 2 interceptions, 12 pass breakups and a forced fumble, while allowing only 7 catches.

 
Nick Jones
Defensive Back | 6-2 / 185 | Charlotte, N.C. | Hampton

• Spent his freshman season at Hampton.
• Did not see game action for the Pirates during the 2025 season.

 
The eight early enrollees include freshmen Connor Dunn, Nathan Hayes, Tyler Owens, Tanner Payne, Xavier Porter, Rishon Postell, Bubba Shoe and Alex Voss, all of which signed with the Phoenix in December.
