TEE SHOTS
- Elon finished runner-up at the season-opening Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate on Tuesday, shooting 20-under-par 844 (276-282-286) across three days at the Grande Dunes Golf Club. Dylan Lewis (67-70-72–209, -7) and Jack Wieler (66-74-71–211, -5) secured top-10 individual finishes with ties for fifth and ninth, respectively.
- Lewis was named the CAA Golfer of the Week on Wednesday following his fifth-place effort in Myrtle Beach. The sophomore has posted five top-10 finishes over his last seven tournaments dating back to last spring.
- The Phoenix is seeking a better outcome in Waynesville this year, having finished ninth with a 6-over-par 846 (286-284-276) last year. Drew Yeagley led Elon at the 2025 JT Poston Invitational, tying for 18th individually with an even-par 210.
- All five golfers in Elon's lineup were mainstays throughout the 2025-26 season and helped lead the Phoenix to a runner-up finish at the 2026 CAA Championship this past spring. Wieler, a three-time All-CAA selection, and fellow veteran Landon Durham (71.58 stroke average in 2025-26) are joined by sophomores William Carr, Lewis and Yeagley.
- Year 14 of the Don Hill era is underway for the Phoenix. Hill, who took over the program in 2013-14, guided Elon to its first Division I conference title in 2025 and has led Elon to four consecutive top-two finishes at the CAA Championship dating back to 2022.
- Elon has two additional tournaments on its 2026 fall slate: the West Bay Collegiate (Oct. 5-6) and the Elon Phoenix Invitational (Oct. 12-13).
