Biography

Coach’s Take: Team captain ... Battled injuries in 2008 ... Has worked extremely hard this fall to get back to the level of play seen during his freshman and sophomore seasons ... Had a great fall and is competing for the starting role in left field.

2008: Second Team Preseason All-SoCon pick by the coaches ... Made 41 appearances, including 32 starts ... Was slowed by injury, but still scored 23 runs, drove home 26, had five doubles, a triple and two homers ... Was a perfect 6-for-6 in stolen base attempts ... Went 3-for-3 with a run and six RBI in the season-opening victory over La Salle ... Homered, scored twice and drove in two in the series finale with La Salle ... Went 2-for-4 with two runs and three RBI in a victory over Delaware State.

2007: Named Elon baseball’s Most Improved Player ... Earned Second Team All-SoCon honors from the media ... Named to the SoCon All-Tournament Team ... Hit .318 with 50 runs scored ... Led the team with 47 RBI and tied for the team lead with 10 homers ... Posted a team-best (and rated fourth in the SoCon) .563 slugging percentage over 60 games ... Finished second in the league with 46 walks ... Hit the team’s only two grand slams of the season - vs. Xavier and vs. Georgia Southern in the SoCon Tournament - and drove in a then-career-high five runs in both games ... Went 2-for-2 with a homer and three RBI in Elon’s 13-12 victory at then-#17 Clemson ... Drove in three and scored three times during a 3-for-4 day at The Citadel ... Had 17 multi-hit games and 10 multi-RBI outings ... Had a season-long hitting streak of eight games.

2006: Appeared in 46 games, earning 31 starts ... Batted .297 with 20 runs scored ... Went 3-for-4 with a run and three RBI in Elon’s 16-8 victory over Brown ... Drove home the game-winning run in Elon’s 5-4 win over Mississippi State, the first-ever NCAA Division I Tournament victory for an Elon program.

Prep: Three-time all-conference performer at The Hotchkiss School ... Named team MVP following his senior season after batting .530 and slugging .950 ... Named his school’s Male Athlete of the Year his senior year ... Hit .340 with three doubles, a triple and two homers in 53 at bats in 2004 ... Also drove in 24 runs and scored another 21 en route to All-Founders League accolades in 2004 ... Member of Team Connecticut in the ASAU 18 American League where he batted .295 over 37 games, scoring 13 runs, driving in 16 and knocking eight extra-base hits ... Named Tri-Valley Rookie of the Year in 2002 ... Batted .385 with wood bats in 2003.
