Elon University Athletics

2012: Started all 11 contests… Made 28 total tackles, including 23 solo stops… Picked off one pass and broke up a team-high five others… Recovered one fumble… Posted a high of five tackles against both West Virginia State and No. 14 Appalachian State… Returned the first interception of his career 29 yards in a victory over N.C. Central.

2011: Notched time in all 11 games… Made nine tackles and broke up three passes in his first season on the team… Had three stops at No. 9 Wofford… Returned 14 punts for 88 yards, including a long of 25 yards in a win at Western Carolina… Brought back 27 kicks for 536 yards with a long return of 40 yards against both No. 9 Wofford and No. 17 Furman.

At Elon: Participated as a member of the Elon baseball team for two seasons, winning a conference title in 2011. 

Prep: Three-year starter for coach Tony Karcich… Helped the squad capture its 11th state title in his senior season while playing as both a defensive back and wide receiver… Totaled 14 career interceptions and 15 career receiving touchdowns… Also brought back four punts and two kickoffs for TDs in his career… Named all-state, all-North Jersey and all-county as a senior… Led the team with 832 all-purpose yards and 85 points as a senior.

Personal: Son of James and Joann Wood…  Sister Jaclyn was a member of Elon’s soccer team… Born October 27, 1990… Majoring in media arts and entertainment.
