Personal: Full name is James William Broderick...Son of Jim and Pamela Broderick...Father competed in rowing at MIT...Also lettered in hockey all four years of high school.
 

2024: Made 39 starts while appearing in 47 games during his senior season...Slashed .260/.333/.360 while collecting a career high in doubles and home runs in maroon & gold...All 39 of his starts came at shortstop and starting a majority in the eight or nine hole in the lineup...Collected 11 multi-hit games during his senior season and finished with four multi-RBI games...Finished the season with a fielding percentage of .943 with 100 assists and 48 putouts...Began the season with three hits in his first two games against Navy...Collected two more multi-hit games against UNCG (02/27) and Longwood (03/05)...Had back-to-back multi-hit games in Elon's first two CAA games of the season, on the road at UNCW (03/22-03/23) homered and doubled in the second game against the Seahawks...Drove in two runs in Elon's home opening CAA series against Campbell...Blasted a three-run home run in Elon's early morning 9-7 win against Monmouth...In Elon's 3-0 win over #8 Wake Forest, Broderick slashed an RBI double to drive in Elon's final run of the game...Broderick would finish 2-0 against the Demon Deacons at Latham Park in his two years with Elon...He continued his hot hitting against William & Mary (05/03), finishing 2-for-3 with three runs scored and a fifth inning, two-run home run to give Elon a 7-4 lead over the Tribe...Had the best day of his collegiate career in Elon's series clinching win against North Carolina A&T (05/12), finished the day at 4-for-5 with three runs scored, three RBIs along with a double and a first inning, three-run home run to put the Phoenix up 5-0.

2023: Made 48 starts in 52 games of action…Slashed .242/.374/.312…In his first season with the Phoenix, Broderick started 47 games at shortstop…Made his first career appearance in the maroon & gold as a defensive substitution in Elon’s 2-0 win over Kentucky (02/17)...Had his first multi-hit game for Elon against Quinnipiac, finishing 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two runs driven in…One of Broderick’s top performances came against the 23rd-ranked NC State Wolfpack, he finished 3-for-3 with two extra-base hits including his first collegiate home run in Elon’s win in Raleigh…Finished with a season high three RBI against Monmouth with a 2-for-5 performance in the series clinching victory (03/18)...Contributed a 2-for-4 performance in Elon’s bounceback Saturday win at Towson (04/01)...Broderick had his strongest performance of the season in the CAA Tournament against Charleston, Broderick finished with a 3-for-5 day with a game sealing seventh inning triple to help lead the Phoenix to a crucial 10-5 win over the Cougars…Finished the season with a .969 fielding percentage with six errors at shortstop in 196 chances. 

 
At Wake Forest: Made 25 appearances (15 starts) at second base and shortstop as a true freshman in 2021, finishing with a .188 batting average, nine hits, one double, one RBI, six runs scored and four walks...Made 21 appearances (three starts) as a sophomore in 2022, posting a .292 batting average, seven hits, seven runs, two doubles and six RBIs.
 
Prep: Four-year letterwinner under Chris Margraf at Lawrence Academy...Senior season canceled due to COVID-19 pandemic...Hit .300 and led team in doubles as a junior, earning all-league honors despite missing the start of the season due to Tommy John surgery...Had eight doubles and a .333 average as a sophomore...Served as a team captain his senior year...Ranked by Perfect Game as a top-500 recruit, the nation’s No. 351 shortstop, the No. 27 overall player in Massachusetts and the No. 5 shortstop in Massachusetts...Also ranked by Prep Baseball Report as the No. 47 overall player and No. 11 shortstop in Massachusetts.
