SIGNAL MOUNTAIN, TN -- Led by Mark Hunsicker's two rounds of 70, the Phoenix men's golf team sits in third place after day one of the Chattanooga Intercollegiate. Jacksonville State shot an impressive 556, 12 under par, for the day to hold the top spot entering the second day of competition. Eastern Kentucky (563) sits 11 strokes ahead of Elon in second place.
Ryan Loucks is tied for 17th place after shooting a 142 on the day. Matt Crews, tied for 22nd, is two strokes back of Loucks. Andrew Koenig shot a 149 on day one to place in a 43rd place tie. J.D. McNeill rounded out Elon's play, shooting a 151 to tie for 54th place.
Elon holds a one shot lead over both Middle Tennessee State and Tennessee-Chattanooga. The Big South's Winthrop and Radford are currently tied for 12th after shooting 591, while BSC newcomer Birmingham Southern sits in 17th with a 609. The field is comprised of 18 teams.
The final round will be played tomorrow in Signal Mountain.
