Howie-In-The-Hills, FL--James Hockman shot a 69 in the final round, bringing him to a 149 two-day total for the Mission Inn Colleigate Classic, to lead the Phoenix to a fourth place finish in the 13 team field. Hockman finished in a fifth place tie individually. Over two rounds, Elon shot a 607 (314-293).
Keith Orlen (72-81-153) and J.D. McNeill (83-71-154) also finished in the top-25 with ties for 19th and 24th respectively. Ben Smith finished tied for 35th (79-78-157) and Elon's fifth golfer Ryan Loucks placed in a tie for 37th (83-75-158).
Old Dominion captured the team title with an overall score of 595. Bethune-Cookman came in a close second with a total score of 596. Winthrop, the host school, finished 11 strokes behind the leader. Matt Brock from Chattanooga claimed the individual title with an overall score of 141 (73-68).
Finishing behind Elon in the rest of the top-10 were Chattanooga (608), Towson (613), Jacksonville (616), Stetson (622), Florida A&M (623) and The Citadel (629). High Point was the third Big South Conference school participating and finished 13th with an overall score of 634.
