CITRUS SPRINGS, FL -- Keith Orlen followed up his three-under-par first-round 72 with an even-par second-round 75 to pace Elon to sixth-place after opening day play Saturday at the 20-team El Diablo Intercollegiate.

Orlen's one-day, two-round 147 total snared him a share of 12th place among the 100 competitors on the 7,045-yard El Diablo Golf and Country Club course. Ball State's Kenny Cook (70-68--138) leads the field entering Sunday's third/final round action.

Elon (299-297--596) only trails Wichita State (286-292--578), Colorado State (291-299--590), West Florida (290-302--592), Kent State (293-301--594) and Methodist (301-294--595) after Saturday's two rounds.

In addition to Orlen, Ryan Loucks (Tied-15th, 74-74--148), Bennett Smith (Tied-23rd, 76-74--150), J.D. McNeill (Tied-62nd, 81-74--155) and James Hockman (Tied-77th, 77-82--159) are also representing the Phoenix this weekend.

Penn State (294-304--598), Ball State (295-303--598), Miami of Ohio (301-298--599), Xavier (302-302--604), Louisville (298-309--607), Indiana (305-307--612), William and Mary (306-307--613), Richmond (302-311--613), Eastern Kentucky (307-309--616), Iowa State (307-310--617), James Madison (306-312--618), host Marshall (313-306--619), Michigan (305-316--621) and Rhode Island (316-314--630) all trail the Phoenix.
