Broncos' Three Balls Send Boise State Past Elon

BOISE, Idaho -- Boise State finally got the flow they’ve been looking for all year. Leading by just one point with 11:51 to play, Boise State went on a 12-0 run that they stretched to a 24-5 run to take the lead en route to an 83-67 win over Elon (2-9) in Taco Bell Arena on Tuesday night. The Broncos drained 16 threes, including 10 in the second half to key the win.

The Broncos got out in transition and scored four straight 3-pointers to push the lead from 57-56 to 69-56 in the span of 3:56 in the second half. Senior Jermaine Blackburn started the run with a 3-pointer, followed by a pair of threes by sophomore Eric Land and a three by senior Franco Harris.

Lane would add another three along with sophomore Seth Robinson to finish the run and give Boise State (6-4) an 81-61 lead with 4:30 to play.

Lane sparked the Broncos coming off the bench to score a career-high 21 points. He made 7-of-9 shots from 3-point range and added three assists in 21 minutes. He fell two 3-pointers shy of the school record set by Abe Jackson.

Lane led five Broncos who scored in double figures. Blackburn added 18 points (7-of-12 shooting) and three rebounds. Harris had 13 points, four rebounds and three assists, while both Robinson and sophomore Coby Karl had 12 points. Robinson added a game-high nine rebounds playing in place of Jason Ellis most of the night.
