Men’s Golf Finishes 15th at Palisades Collegiate Classic

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Elon men’s golf team shot an 899 to finish in 15th-place at the Palisades Collegiate Classic, the final tournament before the conference championship.  Virginia Commonwealth took the title, firing an 836.  Louisville, Marquette, Old Dominion and Belmont Abbey rounded out the top five.  Mike Van Sickle of Marquette took the individual title, with a score of 200, finishing 16 under par.

Leading the way for Elon was Jayson Judy, who finished in a tie for 18th with a three-round score of 216.  He shot for par or under in two rounds. Phil Bartholomew fired a 223 to tie for 37th.

Randall Andersen finished tied for 64th with a three-round score of 230.  Stephen Dressel shot a 233, good for a tie for 72nd.  Rounding out the performances for Elon was Caleb Luther, who finished 84th with a score of 244.

The Phoenix are back in action April 19-21 in Florence, S.C. for the Southern Conference Championship.
