ELON, N.C. -- After a big road win at Princeton on Tuesday night, the Elon men's basketball team will have a quick turnaround before it makes the short trip to Raleigh, N.C., to face off against the NC State Wolfpack on Friday night in Reynolds Coliseum. Tip is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the game can be seen on ESPN3. Patrick Kinas will call the play-by-play while Robin Pate will provide the color commentary.

FREE THROWS
• With a victory at Princeton on Tuesday, Elon has won three straight games for the first time since 2008-09. Elon is also off to its best start (3-1) since the 2002-03 season when the Phoenix opened the year 4-1.
• Tonight’s game will be the first of two for Elon against an ACC opponent this season.
• The Phoenix is 34-125 against current members of the Atlantic Coast Conference.
• The last time Elon defeated one of the current members of the ACC was in 2005 when the Phoenix went on the road to defeat the Oliver Purnell coached Clemson Tigers, 74-69, on Dec. 30, 2005.
• The 2011-12 Phoenix is a youthful team with only one senior on the roster. Four sophomores and a freshman have each earned starting nods this year.
• Lucas Troutman moved into Elon’s all-time career blocks list with two swats against South Carolina. The sophomore now has 52 blocks in just over a year of action, 10th all-time at Elon.
• Elon has been impressive on the defensive end of the floor in the last three games. Its opponents are a combined 56-of-175 (32.0%) from the field in those games. The Phoenix shot 40% or better in all of those games. Elon currently ranks first in the Southern Conference in field goal percentage defense (35.2%).
LAST TIME OUT
• Elon earned its second straight win over an Ivy League opponent with a 56-55 victory at Princeton in the first-ever meeting between the two schools.

Lucas Troutman pulled down a career high 11 rebounds and blocked three shots.
• Elon attempted only seven three-pointers — the Phoenix was averaging 10 made triples a game.
ELON AT NC STATE
• Elon and State went head-to-head last season at the Greensboro Coliseum with the Pack shooting over 60 percent en route to an 87-72 victory.
• The Phoenix nailed five of its first eight three-pointers in the contest and owned a 41-37 lead at the half. Elon second-half scoring droughts coupled with a strong shooting performance by State led to the Pack victory.
• NC State is led by first-year head coach Mark Gottfried, the former head man at Alabama for 10 seasons.
