Women's Golf Gains One Spot at JMU/Eagle Landing Invitational

ORANGE PARK, Fla. --
Both Virginia Mayer and Tara McFadden posted one-over rounds of 73 to help the Elon women's golf team move up one spot to 14th after two rounds of the 18-team field JMU/Eagle Landing Invitational.  The Phoenix carded a second round score of 306 and has a two-round total score of 621 with a round to play.

Mayer enters Sunday's final round in a tie for 23rd out of the 99 individual golfers.  Mayer has a two-round mark of 150 (77-73).  McFadden in four strokes back in a tie for 41st with a total of 154 (81-73).

Shannon Prunty fired a 78 on Saturday and, coupled with Friday's round of 79, is in a tie for 59th with a mark of 157.  Martyna Mierzwa is tied for 74th with a 36-hole score of 160 (78-82) while Lauren Lebak is 95th with a score of 170 (85-85).

Chattanooga continues to pace the field and holds a 13 stroke lead over East Carolina entering the final round.  The Lady Mocs have a tournament score of 581 (296-285) while ECU has a 594 (304-290).  Campbell (311-292--603) sits third while South Florida (308-296), Illinois (309-295) and Miami (306-298) are in a three-way tie for fourth.

UTC's Christine Wolf fired a single-round tournament record mark of 66 on Saturday and leads the individual field with a 36-hole mark of 141 (75-66).
