Full Women's Golf Schedule

ELON, N.C. -- The Elon women's golf team will play five spring tournaments and also make a study abroad trip to England and Scotland during Spring Break in 2013 as was announced by head coach Chris Dockrill.

"We got off to a good start in the fall and have high expectations for our spring season," said Dockrill.  "Everytime we go out on the course we are expecting to win, but we have a young team and anything can happen."

The 2013 campaign will get underway at the nearby High Point University Classic in High Point, N.C., on February 25-26.  The Phoenix will then travel to Kiawah Island, S.C., to participate in the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Classic hosted by College of Charleston March 3-5.

From March 8-10, the maroon and gold will trek to Orange Park, Fla., where it will compete in the JMU/Eagle Landing Invitational hosted by James Madison Universtiy.

Just under two weeks later, the ladies will depart for England and Scotland for their study abroad experience which will fulfill their experiential learning requirement.  The trip will begin with a practice session on a driving range on day one.  A river cruise of London and sightseeing awaits the team on day two.  Day three will bring late day match play competition against local golfers near Chester, England.  Before heading Scotland, the Phoenix will get to play the Royal Liverpool Golf Club, the second oldest seaside links course in England and host of the 2014 Open Championship.  The following day the team will get to experience the Old Course at St. Andrews by playing 18 holes.  Following a day of touring in Edinburgh, Scotland, the team will play a round at Rockliffe Hall, one of Europe's longest and most challenging courses.  One final round of golf will be played on March 30.

"This is a trip of a lifetime," added Dockrill.  "We are looking forward to the new experiences and the chance to play St. Andrews and the other great courses.  This will be a great experience for our team."

Upon their return, the team will play in the UNCW Seahawk Classic hosted by UNC Wilmington in Wallace, N.C., April 6-7.  That tournament will be the squad's final tune-up before the 2013 Southern Conference Championship which will be contested April 14-16 in Hilton Head, S.C.
