Full Schedule
ELON, N.C. – After winning two of its final four tournaments of the 2014 spring season, the Elon women's golf team has announced that it will play in four events this fall beginning in mid-September and concluding at the end of October.
Head coach
Chris Dockrill said, "We're excited to get back out on the course for our first season in the CAA. We hope to build on the success we had in the spring when we won two tournaments and continue to play good golf here in the fall. I feel that we've put together a competitive schedule."
The Phoenix will begin its season at the W&M Invitational in Williamsburg, Va., on Sept. 14. The three-round event hosted by William & Mary will conclude on Sept. 16. The maroon and gold finished second at this event last fall as then-sophomore
Sunna Vidisdottir claimed medalist honors.
As the month of September comes to a close, Elon will play in the Forest Oaks Fall Classic hosted by UNCG on Sept. 29-30. The Phoenix also played in this event a year ago, placing ninth out of 15 programs.
Elon's final two events are also familiar to the Phoenix – the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate (Oct. 13-14) hosted by East Carolina in Greenville, N.C., and the Palmetto Intercollegiate (Oct. 26-28) hosted by College of Charleston in Kiawah Island, S.C. The Phoenix collected a 10th-place showing at the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate and a 13th-place finish at the Palmetto Intercollegiate last fall.
