Final Results

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Solid play over three rounds led both the Elon women's golf team and sophomore Kelsey Badmaev to first-place finishes at the 2014 William & Mary Invitational on Tuesday.

The Phoenix claimed its third team title in its last five tournaments as the maroon and gold shot 883 (300-285-298) to earn a 21-stroke victory. Badmaev claimed her first career medalist honor with a three-round mark of 216 (75-70-71).

Badmaev began the day in third place, but shot a one-under par 71 to rally for the individual crown as she finished at even par. She was two-under in Monday's second round, shooting a career-low 70. Badmaev carded one of two eagles in the event and added 11 birdies. On par-five holes, she led the field by averaging 4.58 strokes.

In her collegiate debut, Heather Munro placed in a fourth-place tie with a 219 (73-67-79). Munro, who averaged 4.83 on the par fives, tied for the most birdies in the field of 70 players with 13.

A pair of Phoenix golfer shared ninth place as both Emily Brooks and Sunna Vidisdottir finished their three rounds with a 224. Brooks went 75-74-75 and had 38 pars, while Vidisdottir shot 77-74-73 and had 39 pars.

Placing in a tie for 56th was Taylor Wilkerson. Wilkerson carded a 243 (79-77-87) over her three rounds of action.

Heather Dockrill competed as an individual and tied for 66th with a score of 258 (87-86-85).

Elon will be back on the links later this month at the Forest Oaks Fall Classic hosted by UNCG on Sept. 29-30.
