Final Results

DAUFUSKIE ISLAND, S.C. – With cool temperatures and overcast conditions, the Elon men's golf team wrapped up play at the Rees Jones Invitational in a tie for eighth place out of 11 teams with a three-round score of 924 (299-302-323).

The top finisher for the Phoenix was Will DiIanni who tied for 23rd out of 63 participants in the field. He finished his three rounds with a total mark of 228 (73-74-81) and had 35 pars and six birdies.

Jeff Krieger's 231 (73-78-80) placed him in a tie for 36th. Krieger tallied six birdies over his three rounds.

In a tie for 41st with a 233 (79-75-79) was Jonathan DiIanni who also notched six total birdies.

Jake Leavitt's 241 (83-75-83) placed him in a tie for 52nd and Charlie May tied for 58th with a score of 245 (74-85-86) to round out the Elon contingent.

Winthrop's Zach Seabolt rallied to take medalist honors with a three-round score of 208 (67-72-69). The team title went to Kennesaw State as the Owls shot an 871 (285-293-293).

Elon will be off until Oct. 13-14 when the Phoenix will participate in the Maryland Terrapin Invitational in Rockville, Md.
