ResultsWILMINGTON, N.C. – The Elon University men's golf team concluded the Seahawk Intercollegiate on Monday, March 30, finishing ninth as a team with a score of 911 (299-294-318).
After shooting 74 on the day, Elon's
Troy Beaver finished the tournament six over par with a three-round score of 222 (74-74-74). Beaver tied with three other plays in ninth place, including Campbell's Craig Hornberger, Harvard's Greg Royston and Columbia's Brandon Jowers. Beaver finished the match with 36 pars, fourth among players.
Charlie May and Jonathan Dilanni finished tied for 28th, shooting 11 over par with a 227. May shot 74-70-83 and Dilanni saw his rounds with a 72-78-77 tally. Jonathan Dilanni finished with 10 birdies, tied for fifth among the players.
Will Dilanni ended the tournament in 62nd place after shooting a 238 (79-73-86).
Jake Leavitt finished off the day with a 242 score, with an 81-77-84 tally.
The Fighting Camels of Campbell took the top of the team leaderboard with a score of 880 (302-282-296). Gaston Bertinotti finished highest for that team tied for third with a 218 (74-70-74). Georgia finished second in the pack with an 885, and Army was one stroke behind the Bulldogs with an 886. Adam Ball of VCU tied with Lee McCoy of Georgia for first place in the tournament, they shot a total of 216, which was even par. Ball hit a 77-68-71, while McCoy went 70-72-74.
The Phoenix heads to Gastonia, N.C., for the two-day Gary Koch Invitational hosted by the University of Kentucky on April 6-7.
