Final ResultsTournament Central SOUTHPORT, N.C. – The Elon University women's golf team garnered its best conference tournament finish in 10 years today, April 19, as the Phoenix finished second at the Colonial Athletic Association Women's Golf Championships held at St. James Plantation. Elon has now collected top-five finishes in eight of its past 11 conference tournaments.
College of Charleston won its second straight CAA title with an 881 (302-290-289), stretching what was a one-shot lead heading into the final round into an 18-stroke victory. Delaware's Andrea Slane carded a five-under par round of 67 to win individual honors by eight strokes.
Heather Munro paced the Phoenix throughout the weekend, taking sole possession of first place into the final round and closing with a 76 to finish in a tie for second with a three-day total of 217.
Kelsey Badmaev posted the best round of any Elon player in the final round, a 73. The sophomore paired that 73 with another round of 73 and a round of 76 to finish at 222 (+6), good for a seventh place finish.
Sunna Vidisdottir's 231 (77-76-78) put her in a tie for 15
th while
Emily Brooks finished in a tie for 22
nd after a third-round 79 gave her a three-day total of 237.
Finally,
Hilda Kristjansdottir carded an 83 to pair with rounds of 74 and 82 that left her in a tie for 26
th.
