ELON, N.C. – Former Elon University men's basketball standout Jack Isenbarger has signed with del Baloncesto Villa de Mieres (BVM2012) basketball club in Mieres, Asturias, Spain, the former Phoenix guard announced on Thursday, July 30. Isenbarger begins team activities on Sept. 1.
 
"I'm excited to begin my career as a professional basketball player," Isenbarger said. "Playing professionally has always been a dream of mine and I'm thrilled to begin this new chapter of my life and to play as long as possible. I'm so thankful to Elon University for helping me achieve this dream of mine."
 
Isenbarger spent this summer playing with Athletes in Action in Israel, which he says prepared him for the opportunity to play professionally.
 
"In talking with my former teammates and coaches, I know the challenges of playing professionally and the mental toughness required to be successful," Isenbarger added. "What I have going for me is an incredibly strong support system of family and friends who can help me on a regular basis, keep me grounded and rally around me."
 
Isenbarger ended his career with 1,428 points, good for 13th in Elon men's basketball history. The Zionsville, Ind., native ranks first all-time in three-pointers made with 264 and first in three-pointers attempted with 721. Isenbarger earned All-Southern Conference laurels twice in his career and was named to the league's all-freshman team as a rookie.

Baloncesto Villa de Mieres, also known as BVM2012, competes in the Liga Española de Baloncesto Amateur league in Spain and is led by head coach and team president, Arturo Álvarez. The team's season begins in October and ends in May. For additional information on the team, visit www.bvm2012.com.
