SERIES HISTORY
Saturday marks the sixth all-time meeting between Elon and Towson. Both teams have only met since the 2014-15 season when Elon joined the CAA. Four of the previous five meetings have been decided by five points or less. Towson swept the season series in 2015-16, defeating the Phoenix 67-56 on Feb. 20, 2016 in Maryland and earning a narrow 81-77 victory on Feb. 6, 2016 inside Alumni Gym. Elon's lone win against the Tigers was during the maroon and gold's inaugural season in the league and first appearance in the CAA Tournament. The Phoenix defeated Towson 74-69 in the first round of the 2015 tournament at Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore.

THREE-POINT FRENZY
Steven Santa Ana tied former Phoenix 1,000-point scorer Sebastian Koch for the Elon single-game Division I record for threes in a game with nine versus William & Mary on Thursday night. Koch also hit nine at #21 Colorado on Dec. 13, 2013. The sophomore guard also tied the single-game record for threes in for game inside Kaplan Arena.

The Phoenix is averaging 9.8 three pointers a game this season and have made 10 or more triples in eight contests this season. Elon's 16 made three pointers at William & Mary was the highest total in a game this season. The last time the Phoenix made 16 or more triples in a game was when Elon made 18 last season against Alabama State on Dec. 16, 2015.

341 AND COUNTING
The Elon men's basketball program has made at least one three-point field goal in 341 consecutive games (not including exhibition games). The last time Elon did not make a three in a game was Jan. 30, 2006, at Georgia Southern when the team went 0-of-14 from deep. Elon is currently averaging 9.8 triples per game, which is first in the CAA and 18th in the NCAA. The Phoenix averaged 9.5 made three pointers a game last season.

MATT MATHENY MILESTONE
Head coach Matt Matheny won his 116th game at Elon on Wednesday, Dec. 28, against Central Penn. With the win, he passed Robert "Bob" Burton (1986-93) for the fourth most in program history. Matheny currently has 116 career victories and is eight wins away from passing D.C. "Peahead" Walker (1927-1937) and moving into third all-time.

SCORING EFFICIENTLY
Brian Dawkins is shooting 55.0% from the field and 53.7 % from the three-point line. His shooting percentage ranks second in the CAA and his three-point shooting percentage is the best in the league thus far. Tyler Seibring is shooting 47.1 percent from the floor, which is 10th-best in the league.

LUKE EDDY MILESTONE
Senior point guard Luke Eddy reached 200 assists in his career with three against South Florida on Nov. 17. He currently sits at 239 for his career. He is currently 37 assists away from moving into the top-10 in program history. Tony Chavis '89 is 10th all-time with 275 career assists.

ROAD TO NORTH CHARLESTON
The 2017 Colonial Athletic Association Men's Basketball Championship is scheduled for March 3-6 in North Charleston, S.C., at the North Charleston Coliseum. Last year, UNCW topped Hofstra in the championship game to earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

SCOUTING TOWSON
Towson (8-8, 0-3 CAA) has lost four of its last five games and is currently on a three-game skid. This is the Tigers' first three-game CAA losing streak since the 2014-15 season. The visitors are led by junior Mike Morsell, who is averaging a team-best 15.4 points per game this season. Senior Arnaud William Adala Moto and Morsell earned preseason recognition from the CAA. Adala-Moto was named a preseason first-team All-CAA selection, while Morsell was named to the second team. Towson is ranked in top 50 nationally in offensive rebounds per game (20th, 14.0), rebound margin (20th, 7.9), free throw attempts (13th, 387.0), free throws made (23rd, 265.0), and rebounds (47th, 39.3). Individually, John Davis is 43rd in double-doubles and leads the CAA in that category with five this season. Morsell is 41st in free-throw attempts (92) and 32nd in made free throws (72). Adala Moto is 47th in free throws made (68) and 44th in free throw attempts (90).
