DURHAM, N.C. – Elon University volleyball concludes non-conference play this Wednesday night, Oct. 16 as the Phoenix (9-11, 4-3 CAA) travels to Durham, N.C. for the second match of a home-and-home series against N.C. Central. First serve at McDougald-McLendon Arena is scheduled for 6 p.m.

SERIES HISTORY
Elon defeated the Lady Eagles (3-17, 2-4 MEAC) in straight sets when the Phoenix hosted NCCU for its home opener on Sept. 10.
Leah Daniel hit .462 as she converted 14-of-26 attacks with a dig and a block assist.Â
Kellyn Trowse added nine kills, and
Jenn Krzeminski finished with seven.

Haylie Clark combined for 37 assists, and Krzeminski served three aces. Defensively, Trowse tallied eight digs whileÂ

Jordan Gower had six each. Krzeminski also added five blocks to her totals.
As a team, Elon out-hit NCCU .323 to .147 and held the advantage in points (57.0-34.0), kills (45-26), aces (7-3), assists (44-25), and digs (33-31). The win marked the 21st in a row versus the Lady Eagles as Elon now leads the all-time series, 27-5.
SCOUTING THE EAGLES
NCCU is looking to snap a three-match skid after falling 3-0 at Florida A&M on Oct. 11, 3-1 at Bethune-Cookman on Oct. 13, and 3-1 at The Citadel on Oct. 14. Christine Alcox and Arlanda Faulkner pace the attack with 194 and 152 kills respectively. Celene Morris is the primary setter with 563 assists, while Alyssa Pieh has served a team-high 28 aces. On the other side of the net, Yomaries Villegas has 274 digs and McKayla Young has made 60 blocks.
PHOENIX CURRENTLY FOURTH IN LEAGUE PLAY
After winning its first three conference matches of the season with decisions over Hofstra, Northeastern, and Charleston, the maroon and gold fell 3-1 at UNCW on Oct. 6 and 3-0 to James Madison last Thursday, Oct. 10. The Phoenix rebounded with a 3-2 victory at home last Saturday, Oct. 12 against Delaware. However, Towson spoiled the final match of Elon's home stand with a 3-1 result.
Elon is currently fourth in the CAA standings as the team approaches the midway point of its conference schedule. The Tigers are atop the table at 6-0, while the Dukes and Pride are tied for second at 4-2.
