GREENSBORO, N.C. – Elon University men's golf finished in ninth place following the final round of the Grandover Collegiate on Monday, Oct. 28. UNCG hosted the two-day tournament at the Grandover Resort in Greensboro, N.C. The Collegiate marked the final event of Elon's fall schedule.

The team combined for a 24-over 312 through the final 18 holes for a three-round total of 941. The Spartans won their annual fall tournament for the second year in a row with a 12-over 876. Rutgers took second place with an 885 (+21), and Appalachian State was third with an 891 (+27).

"Grandover proved to be a tough course for us to play this week," said head coach Don Hill. "Definitely not how we wanted to finish our fall, but we'll take it as a learning opportunity. We've got a couple months now to prepare for our spring season and work on our game."
 
HIGHLIGHTS
Graham Hutchinson carded a three-over 75 in the final round. The effort helped the junior from Dallas, Texas move up 13 spots in the standings as he tied for 26th with a 13-over 229. William Frodigh shot his best 18 holes of the tourney with a four-over 76 and finished tied for 37th with a 231 (+15). Quade Lukes was one stroke behind Frodigh, tying for 39th with a 232. The Chapel Hill, N.C. native shot a three on the par-five second hole today for Elon's only eagle in the tournament. He also tallied a team-high 10 birdies, while Frodigh followed with nine.
