ELON, N.C. – Elon University women's basketball travels to Las Vegas, Nev. to compete in the Lady Rebel Round-Up at UNLV on Saturday, Nov. 30 and Sunday, Dec. 1. The Phoenix faces UNLV prior to taking on the winner of the IUPUI/St. John's matchup.

ABOUT ELON
-The Phoenix hosted Wake Forest in their final home game of 2019 on Monday, Nov. 25. The Deacons won the contest 69-57.
-Two Elon players finished the game with double-digit scoring.
Brie Perpignan totaled 16 points, setting a new season high.
Jaylin Powell followed with 12, shooting 3-7 from beyond the arc.
-Perpignan also led the defense with five steals, tying her career-best. She last tallied five steals against William & Mary on Feb. 17, 2019.
-The CAA announced in its preseason poll that the Phoenix was picked eighth, earning 28 points. James Madison was named the favorite, totaling 81 points and nine first-place votes.
-Elon is led by ninth year head coach
Charlotte Smith, who led the Phoenix to two consecutive CAA Championship titles in 2017 and 2018.
LOOKING AHEAD TO 2019-20
-The Phoenix will be on the road for a majority of the holiday season. Between this weekend and Jan. 10, Elon has eight away games in a row, including NC State, Newberry, Coastal Carolina, Furman, Towson, and James Madison.
-Elon opens CAA play against Towson on Jan. 3.
SCOUTING UNLV
-The Lady Rebels enter the game with a 1-3 record. Their only win came in their most recent matchup against South Carolina State on Nov. 23 (66-57).
-LaTecia Smith and Rodjanae Wade combined for 35 points. Wade now has three double-doubles in the first four games of the season after posting 15 points and 10 rebounds against the Bulldogs.
-UNLV was picked seventh in the 2019-20 Mountain West preseason poll.
-The matchup is the second time where Elon and UNLV crossed paths. The first contest came on Nov. 24, 2006 when then Lady Rebels won 70-40.
Scouting IUPUI
-IUPUI's record stands at 2-3, with all three losses coming in their most recent matchups.
-In their last game, the Jaguars were defeated by UT Martin 57-51. Natalie Andersen totaled a career-high 16 points in the loss.
- IUPUI earned two first-place votes and finished third overall in the Horizon League Women's Basketball Preseason Poll the league. Macee Williams was also named the Preseason Player of the Year.
Scouting St. John's
-The Red Storm comes into the weekend with a 4-1 record. Their lone loss came against CAA rival James Madison on Nov. 17 (76-73).
-St. John's posted an 82-71 win over the University of Massachusetts in their last contest. Qadashah Hoppie paced the way offensively for the Red Storm with 22 points against the Minutewomen. The junior guard has eclipsed the 20-point mark in the team's last four outings.
-The Red Storm was predicted to finish second in the BIG EAST Preseason Poll. Tiana England and Qadashah Hoppie were both named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team.
UP NEXT
After the Lady Rebel Round-Up, Elon will have a two-week break before their next contest. The Phoenix travels to Raleigh for a matchup against NC State on Sunday, Dec. 15. Tipoff is scheduled for 12 p.m.
