CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Max Ferrari carded a minus-four 68 in the opening round and went even on the day to lead the Elon University men's golf team through the first day of the Tar Heel Intercollegiate, hosted by UNC at Finley Golf course Saturday, March 23.
The Phoenix combined for a 599 as a team and sit tied for 11th place. Illinois is atop the team standings with a two-under 574, the host Tar Heels are in second with a one-under 575, and North Florida rounds out the top three with a plus-six 582. UNCW is one stroke ahead of Elon in 10th place with a 598, and James Madison also posted a 599 through the first two rounds of competition.
HIGHLIGHTS
Ferrari totaled a team-high eight birdies, while
Dawson Daniels and
William Harwood followed with seven each. Harwood will enter the final day tied for 32nd with a five-over 149.
Graham Hutchinson is tied for 55th with a 153, and Daniels is tied for 68th at 155.
William Frodigh and
Quade Lukes rounded out the scores with a 156 and 157, respectively.
UP NEXT
Play will resume tomorrow with pairings teeing off of holes one and 10 between 8 a.m. and 10:06 a.m.
