ELON, N.C. – Elon University women's basketball faces Drexel in Schar Center on Friday, Jan. 24 at 7 p.m.

THE MATCHUP
-This will be the 12th matchup between the two teams. The Dragons lead the overall series 7-4.
 
ABOUT ELON
-The Phoenix earned its fourth CAA win of the season last weekend when it defeated Hofstra, 69-56.
-Saadia Munford tied her career high for single-game points (20). Jada Graves and Ariel Colón also chipped in 12 points apiece, while Jaylin Powell recorded a career-high 4 assists. On defense, Graves matched her season high for steals (5) and tallied a season-best 4 assists. 
-Elon kept the Pride to eight and seven points in the first two quarters. The Phoenix have now held three of its past four opponents to single digits in a quarter.
-The CAA announced in its preseason poll that the Phoenix was picked eighth, earning 28 points. James Madison was named the favorite, totaling 81 points and nine first-place votes. 
-Elon is led by ninth year head coach Charlotte Smith, who led the Phoenix to two consecutive CAA Championship titles in 2017 and 2018.
 
LOOKING AHEAD TO 2019-20
-Elon has 12 games remaining in its regular-season schedule.
-The CAA announced on June 25, 2018 that the 2020 CAA Women's Basketball Championship will be held at Elon University's Schar Center. Competition takes place from March 11-14. Those interested in purchasing tickets can do so here.    

SCOUTING DREXEL
-The Dragons currently hold an 11-6 (4-1 CAA) record on the season.  
-In its last game, Drexel defeated Delaware in overtime, 63-59. Bailey Greenberg scored a game-high 26 points behind 10-of-18 shooting. Greenberg also moved into seventh place on Drexel's all-time scoring list with 1,563 career points.
-The Dragons were picked to place second in the CAA Preseason Coaches' Poll. Greenberg was named a Preseason First Team All-CAA selection, while Metzel was tabbed a Preseason All-CAA Honorable Mention honoree.
 
UP NEXT
Elon will have an afternoon matchup against Delaware on Sunday, Jan. 26. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m.
