ELON, N.C. – Elon University men's basketball hosts High Point on Saturday, Nov. 28, in its second game of the season. Tipoff at Schar Center is scheduled for 4 p.m.

COVERAGE

THE MATCHUP
- This marks the 186th time Elon and High Point will meet in program history, with Elon trailing in the series 95-90.
- High Point defeated the Phoenix, 70-66, in their most recent meeting on Dec. 5, 2019.
 
ABOUT ELON
- Elon used a 32-6 first half run to win its season opener, 82-52, against N.C. Wesleyan.
- In his first game at Elon, Jerald Gillens-Butler led the Phoenix offense, dropping 19 points (7-of-14) and nine rebounds. 
- Hunter McIntosh chipped in 18 points (five threes) and four assists, while Federico Poser added 13 points and four rebounds in 18 minutes.
-Elon held a 22-0 advantage in fast break points, turning 19 N.C. Wesleyan turnovers into 16 points.
- Freshmen Darius Burford and Michael Graham combined for 11 points and nine rebounds in their debuts for the Phoenix.
- Following its win against N.C. Wesleyan, the Phoenix moved to 2-0 in season openers under Schrage.
 
SCOUTING HIGH POINT
- Third-year High Point head coach Tubby Smith has compiled a 25-39 overall record since joining the program in 2018.
- The Panthers are off to an 0-1 start to the season after losing to Davidson, 82-73, in its season opener.
- High Point is led by John-Michael Wright, who leads the team in scoring with 29 points per game. Additionally, Ahmil Flowers and Denny Slay II combine to average 26 points and four rebounds for the Panthers.

LOOKING AHEAD IN 2020-21
- Following its opening three games at home, the maroon and gold hit the road for an away contest against Duke at Cameron Indoor Stadium on Dec. 6. Elon then travels to Washington, D.C. to match up with Howard on Dec. 8. Both games are part of the Mako Medical Duke Classic Honoring Dr. Onye E. Akwari, a multi-team event co-hosted by Duke and Howard.
- The Phoenix rounds out the road trip with a Dec. 12 tilt against North Carolina in Chapel Hill, N.C. Elon then returns home to finish non-conference play against Campbell (Dec. 15) and UNCG (Dec. 19). 
- Elon begins its 2020-21 conference slate on Jan. 2 when it travels to Boston to take on Northeastern.
- Elon concludes the regular season with a pair of home contests against Hofstra on Feb. 27 and 28.
 
UP NEXT
The Phoenix will be back in action on Thursday, Dec. 3, against Mercer. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. at Schar Center.
