Elon then hosted the second game on April 16, which saw the No.12-ranked Pirates win by a score of 9-4. ABOUT EAST CAROLINA
ECU swept William & Mary to start the season before dropping a 7-2 game at Campbell last Wednesday, Feb. 19. ECU is coming off a series sweep of Georgia Southern this past weekend in Greenville, N.C. The teams ended up playing a doubleheader on Sunday due to weather in the area.

Thomas Francisco leads ECU at the plate with a .455 (10-for-22) clip. Bryson Worrell follows with a .417 (10-for-24) average and Connor Norby is hitting .333 (8-for-24). Alec Burleson (.308) has scored a team-high seven runs, while Francisco has driven in seven. As a team, the Pirates are batting .291. Trystan Kimmel is expected to get the start on the mound. The junior right-hander owns a 0-0 record with a 3.00 ERA in four appearances out of the pen. He has allowed one earned run on five hits and three walks while fanning four in 3.0 innings pitched.

ECU advanced to its fifth Super Regional in program history in 2019 and was picked to win the American Athletic Conference in the league's preseason coaches' poll. Burleson was named the Preseason Player of the Year, while classmate Jake Kuchmaner was selected Preseason Pitcher of the Year. The Pirates are currently ranked No. 17 by the NCBWA, No. 20 by Baseball America, No. 21 by D1Baseball, and No. 24 by Collegiate Baseball.

KENNEDY REACHES WIN NO. 750
Elon's Opening Weekend sweep of Delaware State brought Elon head coach Mike Kennedy to 750 career wins, all while leading the Phoenix. The program's all-time winningest coach, he currently owns an all-time record of 753-572-3 (.568). The skipper is in his 24th season.

PHOENIX SWEEPS UMASS LOWELL
Elon had another solid weekend at Latham Park as the maroon and gold picked up its second series sweep in as many weeks. The Phoenix opened this past weekend with a 10-0 shutout of the River Hawks and followed with a 5-2 final on Saturday to clinch the series win. With the guests looking to rally from an early 5-0 deficit in Sunday's finale, Joe Sprake earned his second save in as many days to help Elon to the 5-4 final.

The team enters Tuesday looking to defend its 6-0 mark when playing at home. Elon's 6-1 start to the 2020 season marks the best by the program since 2014.
