ELON, N.C. – The Elon University women's track and field team is set to compete at the VertKlasse Meeting on the campus of High Point University this Thursday and Friday, April 1-2, at Vert Stadium.
Elon is scheduled to begin the meet on Thursday with the women's javelin, which is set to begin after the conclusion of the men's hammer throw at 10 a.m. The Phoenix's first track event of the meet, the women's 1,500-meters, is set for a 4:10 p.m. start time.

• The meet will be streamed on ESPN+ with all of Friday's track events being covered starting at 1 p.m.
About the Meet and Field
• Elon will face off against 32 teams at the meet: Appalachian State, Barton, Cedarville, Charlotte, Citadel, Cleveland CC, Columbia International, Concord, Davidson, East Tennessee State, Florida Atlantic, Gardner-Webb, Glenville State, High Point, Indiana Wesleyan, Lenior Rhyne, Liberty, Louisburg, Mars Hill, Mount Olive, NC A&T, North Carolina Central, Ohio, Pfeiffer, Radford, Roanoke, UNC Greensboro, Virginia State, Western Carolina, Winston Salem State, Winthrop, and Wofford.
• The meet will be closed on both Thursday and Friday as no outside fans will be allowed to attend. Only family members of High Point University will be allowed admission to the meet.
Last Time Out
• Select members of the Phoenix last competed at the prestigious Raleigh Relays last week, March 25-27, hosted by NC State.
• Sophomore
Maria Ahm set a new school-record at the meet in the 10,000-meters as the Holbæk, Denmark, native clocked a time of 33:43.82 and finished third overall in the highly competitive field featuring some of the top runners in the country.
• Junior
Kathleen Collins set a new personal record in the discus throw, tossing a mark of 47.69m. The Strafford, N.H., native finished seventh overall for the Phoenix.

Melissa Anastasakis led the maroon and gold in the 1,500-meter run with an eighth-place finish and a time of 4:21.33.
Scolasticah Kemei, making her outdoor debut for the Phoenix, was 30th with a time of 4:29.70, moving her into the program's top-10 performance list, as did
Hannah Preeo with her time of 4:33.34 while finishing 42nd overall.
• In the 5,000-meter run,
Maggie Springer was the top finisher for the Phoenix with her time of 17:11.64, which moves into the program's top-10 performance list. Senior
Bridget Kanaley set a new personal-record in the 5,000-meters with a time of 17:38.18.
Ahm Named CAA Track Athlete of the Week
• For her performance at the Raleigh Relays, Ahm was selected as the Colonial Athletic Association's Women's Track Athlete of the Meet on Wednesday, March 31.
• Ahm's time at the Raleigh Relays currently sits third on the NCAA East Regional performance list. Ahm sits three seconds behind Kelsey Chmiel (33:40.20) from NC State while Alabama's Mercy Chelangat, who was the individual champion at the NCAA Cross Country Championships on March 15, is first with her time of 32:31.43.
