CARY, N.C. – The Elon University men's golf team shot a three-round total of 10-over par 874 to finish 11th at the 2021 Stitch Intercollegiate on Saturday, April 10th at MacGregor Downs Country Club.
 
The Phoenix recorded a six-over 294 in round two and a one-over 289 in the final round. Host NC State captured the team trophy after finishing 51-under par with an 813. Notre Dame was second with an 825 (-39), and East Tennessee was one stroke behind the Irish and in third place with an 826 (-38). Campbell's Pontus Nyholm was the individual champion with a 17-under 199, and NC State's Christian Salzer was the runner up with a 14-under 202.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
Max Ferrari was Elon's top finisher as he tied for 27th with a three-under 213. The Framingham, Mass. native carded a 4-under 68 in the second round and followed with a one-over 73 through the final 18 holes. William Frodigh was next for the maroon and gold, placing 48th with a one-over 217. The redshirt junior recorded a plus-two 74 in round two and an even 72 in the final round. Cristian Del Vecchio tied for 59th with a seven-over 223, and Josef Dransfeld was two strokes behind him and tied for 61st with a 225 (+9). Pedro Rabadan rounded out Elon's scores with a 228 (+12) to place 67th.

Rabadan shot one eagle, Ferrari made 14 birdies, and Del Vecchio parred 38 holes throughout the tournament.
