SAINT HELENA ISLAND, S.C. – Elon University men's golf combined to shoot an even 288 in the second round of the 2022 CAA Championship on Monday, April 25 at Dataw Island Club.

The Phoenix is currently tied for fourth place in the team standings with Delaware at six-over par 582. College of Charleston extended its overall lead to a 21-under 555, UNCW is in second place with a 12-under 564 and Drexel is third with a three-under 573.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
Garrett Risner still leads the team and is tied for 10th with a one-under par 143. He turned in a one-over 73 for his second time around the course with three birdies made. Bronson Myers recorded an even 72 for the second straight day and is one stroke behind Risner and tied for 14th at 144. Matthew Doyle posted the best round for the Phoenix on Monday. The freshman from John's Island, S.C. bettered his first-round score by nine strokes, tallying five birdies, for a two-under 70. He's currently tied for 24th at five-over 149. William Frodigh and Juan Callejo Ropero are both tied for 27th with scores of six-over 150. Frodigh made three birdies on his back nine to finish with a one-over 73 for the round. Callejo Ropero eagled the par-5 13th hole and added five birdies, but with a triple bogey and a double bogey on his card, he ended up at three-over 75.

Myers is tied for second in par-4 scoring with an average of 3.85 while Risner is tied for second in par-5 scoring at 4.50. Callejo Ropero, Myers and Risner have all made seven birdies so far while Risner leads the team with 23 putts for par.

The Championship concludes with the final round tomorrow. Elon will tee off from the first hole between 8-8:48 a.m.
