ELON, N.C. – The Elon men's golf team hopes to have a strong start to its fall season this week, as the Phoenix competes at the Allstate Streamsong Invitational Monday-Wednesday. Lipscomb will host the tournament at the 7,331-yard, par-73 Streamsong Black Course at Streamsong Golf Resort in Bowling Green, Fla.
TOURNAMENT INFORMATION
- Teams will play three rounds across Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The first round will begin on Monday at 8:30 a.m. The second round and final round will feature an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start on both Tuesday and Wednesday.
- The other teams competing in the tournament are Austin Peay, Florida Atlantic, James Madison, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, North Texas, Tennessee Tech, Western Kentucky, Wichita State and USC Upstate.

ABOUT THE PHOENIX
- Last season, the Phoenix had its best ever finish at the CAA Championship, placing second.
- Junior Matthew Doyle is coming off a strong season where he posted a team-best 71.64 scoring average and a -0.12 score to par in 12 events. The Summerville, S.C., native racked up seven top-10 finishes and three CAA Men's Golfer of the Week selections. Doyle was also selected to the All-CAA First Team last season.
- Garrett Risner, a junior from Holly Springs, N.C., was named to the All-CAA Second Team for the second straight year where he posted an average score of 71.79 with a +0.03 score vs. par over 12 tournaments last season. Risner won the Phoenix Invitational in October, shooting a season-low 63 in the second round. Following the victory, Risner was named the CAA Men's Golfer of the Week.
- Junior Juan Callejo Roper competed in 10 events last season and posted an average score of 73.36 and +1.57 to par per round. Callejo shared the individual title at the Battle at the Run with a round of 67 and was named CAA Men's Golfer of the Week following the win on Apr. 19.
- Landon Durham made his Elon-debut last season at the Phoenix invitational where he carded a 4-over par 217. The Ponte Verda Beach, Fla., native shot a career-low round of 68 en route to his first career victory at the Aggie Invitational in March. The sophomore also tied for fifth place at the CAA Championship, finishing with a 2-under par 214, making the CAA Championship All-Tournament Team.
- Bronson Myers, a Columbia, S.C., native, returns after competing in 11 tournaments last season. The redshirt junior had an average score of 72.90 (+1.17 to par) per round. Myers shot a season-best 65 in the third round of the Phoenix Invitational to help Elon defend its title and finish in second. Myers concluded the season tying for ninth at the CAA Championship shooting a 3-under par 69 in the final round.
- Senior Pedro Rabadan competed in seven events last season for the Phoenix. The Madrid, Spain, native shot a season-low round of 72 in the opening round of the Aggie Invitational to later place 13th with a 9-over par 225.
- Junior Timmy Gannon and sophomore Jennings Glenn both competed in seven tournaments last season. Gannon owned an average score of 76.85 and a +5.25 score vs. par, while Glenn posted an average score of 75.53 last season with a +3.89 score vs. par. The two helped the Phoenix win the Aggie Invitational where Glenn tied for fourth and Gannon tied for sixth.
- Redshirt sophomore Ollie Rotermund competed in eight tournaments last season for the Phoenix. The Charleston, S.C. native had his best finish at the Aggie Invitational, where tied for eighth with a 7-over par 223.
- The Phoenix also welcomes one newcomer, Jack Wieler, who competed in the U.S. Amateur this summer.
- Elon is led by head coach Don Hill, who is in his 11th season with the team. Brad Hastings and Roddy Guest enter their first season as assistant coaches for the program.
