ELON, N.C. — The Elon women's basketball team (8-16, 3-6) prepares for a long weekend road trip as they head to Northeastern (8-13, 4-7) on Friday, Feb 16 before traveling to Stony Brook (19-3, 9-2) on Sunday Feb. 18. Tipoff for Friday's matchup is set for 7 p.m. with Sunday's contest slated for 1 p.m.

SERIES HISTORY VS. NORTHEASTERN, STONY BROOK
- The all-time series between Elon and Northeastern is tied 8-8.
- The Phoenix fell earlier this year to the Huskies 51-46 in Schar Center on Feb. 2, 2024.
- Elon has a slight 4-3 advantage when playing on the road at Northeastern.
- Stony Brook leads the all-time series against the Phoenix 2-0.
- Elon fell in both contests to the Seawolves last year, most recently on Mar. 9, 2023, in the first round of the CAA Championship 54-51 in Towson, Md.
LAST TIME OUT
- Elon had their best three-point performance of the season, but it was not enough to defeat the UNCW Seahawks.
- The Phoenix made a season-high 12 three-pointers, five coming from Diamond Monroe.
- Monroe led the Phoenix scoring 17 points going 5-for-10 from the three-point line.
- Vanessa Taylor reached double-figures for the second consecutive game with 10 points going 4-for-9 from the field.
- Monroe and Ruby Willard shared the team-lead with six boards apiece, a career-high for Willard.
- Regina Walton finished with a career-high seven assists followed by Pass with four.
- As a team, the Phoenix outnumbered the Seahawks in rebounds (39-38), steals (8-5) and points off the bench (26-5).
SCOUTING NORTHEASTERN
- Northeastern is coming off a 0-2 weekend in CAA play where they fell to Monmouth 50-41 on Feb. 9 and 71-35 to Stony Brook on Feb. 11.
- The Huskies are 8-13 overall and 4-7 in league play, defeating UNCW, Hofstra, Delaware and Elon earlier this season.
- Last season, Northeastern went 19-12 overall and 13-5 in conference play finishing third in the CAA.
- The Huskies were picked to finish third with two first place votes in the 2023-24 CAA Preseason Poll.
- Senior guard Derin Erdogan was named to the CAA Preseason First Team while Gemima Motema was named to the CAA Preseason Second Team.
- Two Northeastern players are averaging double figures led by Erdogan with 15.0 points per game, ranking fifth in the league. Erdogan also leads the team in assists with 4.2 per game and steals at 1.8.
- Senior forward Deja Bristol is averaging 10.7 points per game and shooting 52 percent from the field. Bristol also leads the Huskies on the boards grabbing 5.8 rebounds per game.
- Jaelyn Batts paces Northeastern in blocked shots averaging 1.1 per game and is second on the team in assists per game at 3.8.
- Priscilla Edwards-Lloyd is her first season at the helm of the Huskies program after serving as an assistant coach at Clemson and five as the associate head coach at Providence.
SCOUTING STONY BROOK
- Last weekend the Seawolves went 1-1 in league play falling to Towson in overtime, 83-78 before defeating Northeastern 71-35.
- Stony Brook is tied for the lead in league play with a 9-2 record in CAA play sitting at 19-3 overall. The Seawolves have only fallen to Towson and Campbell, both of which went to overtime.
- Last season, the team posted an 18-13 overall record while going 11-7 in CAA play.
- Stony Brook was picked to finish 2nd in the 2023-24 CAA Preseason Poll with two first place votes.
- Sherese Pittman was named to the 2023-24 Preseason All-CAA First Team while Gigi Gonzalez was named to the Preseason All-CAA Second Team.
- Three Seawolves players are averaging double figures led by Khari Clark with 16.5 points per game, ranking second in the league followed by Gonzalez at 16.4 ranking third in the league. Pittman is averaging 11.7 points per game. All three players are shooting over 41 percent from the field, with Clark at a league-high 63 percent.
- Clark also leads the Seawolves on the glass with 7.7 boards per game followed by Pittman with 6.4
- Gonzalez leads the team and ranks second in the CAA with 5.5 assists per game.
- Clark also paces the team in steals per game with (1.5) and blocks per game (1.3).
- Ashley Langford is in her third season with the Seawolves program.
