Men’s Golf Finishes Fifth At Battle At Briar’s Creek

JOHNS ISLAND, S.C. -- The Elon University men's golf team finished fifth following the 36-hole Battle at Briar's Creek on Tuesday. College of Charleston hosted the tournament at the 7,175-yard, par-72 Golf Club at Briar's Creek.

Elon finished the tournament with a 36-hole total of 582 (+6). Clemson won the tournament with a 1-under par 575 with Chattanooga finishing second at 577 (+1).

FROM COACH DON HILL
"Congratulations to Clemson University - having played with them the last two days they played exceptional golf in extremely difficult conditions. It was nice to get the spring season off and running and I feel like we played exceptional golf for the most part. We are an excellent driving team; we drove it well. Physically we did a lot of good things. We have to execute better inside of 30 yards and continue to work on controlling our emotions. It's a very competitive bunch and we like to win but winning is a byproduct of doing the little things the right way. We have a quick turnaround before we go to Puerto Rico. It will be nice to get home and practice for a few days in preparation for another big event."
