SNOW HILL, N.C. – Freshman Jack Wieler fired a season low round of 66 (-6) in the second round of the Cutter Creek Intercollegiate to move into second place. Garrett Risner also shot a 66 (-6) to help the Phoenix move into solo second place with a 36-hole total of 564 (-12). Elon is co-hosting the tournament alongside East Carolina at the par-72, 7,147-yard Cutter Creek Golf Club in Snow Hill, N.C.

As a team, Elon carded the tournament-low second round with a 15-under par 273. East Carolina maintains the lead at 560 (-15). 
 
HIGHLIGHTS

• Jack Wieler carded six birdies and an eagle on hole five in his second round to move up four spots in the individual standings to solo second place. Wieler now leads the team in par-4 scoring average (3.85) and par-5 scoring average (4.38). 
• Juan Callejo Ropero and Pedro Rabadan are now both tied for seventh place with a 36-hole total of 142 (-2). Ropero carded four birdies to offset two bogeys and isn't now second on the team in birdies (8) while Rabadan is second on the team in pars (25). 
• Matthew Doyle and Jennings Glenn are tied for 14th place with an even-par 144. Doyle leads the Phoenix in pars with 26 after carding 11 in today's round. 
• Garrett Risner jumped up a team-high 53 spots on the individual leaderboard to tie for 22nd place after carding a 6-under par 66. Risner carded five birdies and no bogeys on the back nine and is now tied with Wieler for a team-high nine birdies. 
• Bronson Myers carded a 1-under par 71 in his second round to move up 30 spots in the individual standings to tie for 36th place. Myers carded five birdies to offset four bogeys and leads the field in par-3 scoring average (2.75). 
• Oliver Rotermund improved his score by four strokes with a 75 (+3) in his second round to tie for 75th place.
• Timmy Gannon is tied for 79th place after improving his round score by five strokes shooting a 3-over par 75 in round two. 
• As a team, Elon is second in the field in par-3 scoring (3.13), par-4 scoring (4.10), par-5 scoring (4.77) and birdies (42).

UP NEXT 

• Tomorrow's final round will begin tomorrow with tee times starting at 8 a.m.
• The Phoenix heads to Dataw Island South Carolina on April 21-23 to compete at the CAA Championship.
