SAINT HELENA, S.C. – The Elon University men's golf team finished runner-up at the CAA Championship with their lowest 54-hole total at the tournament at 836 (-28). The tournament was contested at the par-72, 6,849-yard Dataw Island Cotton Dike Course in Saint Helena, S.C.

As a team, Elon shot a final round score of 283 (-5) to finish second for the second straight year. College of Charleston won the tournament with a 35-under par 829. Garrett Risner (3), Jack Wieler (T4) and Bronson Myers (7) all finished within the top-10 for the Phoenix. Charleston's Zach Reuland and Kieron van Wyk shared the individual title with a 13-under par 203.

HIGHLIGHTS 

• Garrett Risner shot his lowest score of the tournament with a 6-under par 66 in the final round. Risner carded a bogey-free round including four birdies and an eagle on hole 18 to finish in solo third place. He tied for the lead in the field in par-5 scoring average (4.00) and finished second in the field in par-3 scoring average (2.83) while leading the team in birdies (15). Risner's 54-hole total of 12-under par 204 is the best score in tournament history by a non-medalist.
• Jack Wieler tied for fourth place after carding a 1-under par 71 in his final round. Wieler carded three birdies to offset two bogeys and finished second on the team in birdies (14), par-4 scoring average (3.90) and par-5 scoring average (4.42).
• Bronson Myers carded a 3-over par 75 in his final round to finish in solo seventh place on the individual leaderboard. Myers tied the team best with Risner in pars with 34.
• Matthew Doyle started his final round off strong with three birdies on his front nine before finishing the day at an even-par 72. Doyle tied for 14^th place with a 54-hole total of 215 (-1) and tied for second on the team in pars with 33.
• Juan Callejo Ropero finished tied for 24^th place with a 3-over par 219. Ropero shot a final round of 74 (+2) including three birdies and 12 pars and finished second on the team in par-3 scoring average (3.00).
• As a team, the Phoenix finished second in the field in par-5 scoring average (4.53), pars (166) and birdies (65).
