Wieler Named CAA Co-Men’s Golfer Of The Week

RICHMOND, Va. – Elon University men's golfer Jack Wieler has been named the CAA Co-Men's Golfer of the Week, as announced by the conference on Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 11.

Wieler shared the individual title in a field of 87 players at this week's Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The sophomore shot three rounds of par or better, where he matched his career low-round score of 66 (-6) in his opening round, firing seven birdies. Wieler shot a 2-under par 70 in his final round to finish with a 54-hole total of 209 (-9). He led the field in par-4 scoring average (3.73) and finished second in birdies (16).

This is Wieler's second career CAA honor and the first by an Elon men's golfer this fall. Elon will travel to Galway, Ireland for the Lyon Links on Wednesday, Sept. 18-20, for a three-day tournament at the Royal Dublin Golf Course.
