ELON, N.C. — The Elon women's basketball team (8-6, 2-1 CAA) returns to Schar Center this weekend, hosting Stony Brook (8-7, 3-1 CAA) on Friday at 7 p.m. for Carnival Night and Hofstra (8-7, 3-1 CAA) on Sunday at 1 p.m. for Princess Day.

SERIES HISTORY

- Maraja Pass ranks sixth in the league in assists per game and is tied for second in assist/turnover ratio at 1.6.
- Iycez Adams is seventh in the CAA in both total blocks (15) and blocks per game (1.1).
JAYDA'S ANGELS
- Freshman Jayda Angel has earned three CAA Rookie of the Week honors so far in the 2024-25 season.
- Jayda Angel provided a spark off the bench, leading the team with 15 points in the win over Hampton. She also contributed four rebounds, two assists, and a steal.
- Angel scored 14 points, going 7-for-11 from the field, while adding seven rebounds and two steals against the Tribe.
- Angel reached double figures for the fifth time this season, scoring 11 points and leading the Phoenix defensively with three steals in the win over Lees-McRae.
- Angel delivered an impressive performance in the team's win at Long Beach State, scoring nine points—including the game-winning basket—and contributing eight rebounds.
- Angel tallied 12 points shooting 4-for-9 from the field while also adding nine rebounds, two assists and a steal in the team's win over Longwood.
- Angel notched her first career 20-point performance against Elon's first Power Four matchup of the season.
- She led all Phoenix scorers with 20 points, shooting 7-for-13 from the field, and added six rebounds and two steals, tying for the team lead in both categories, during the game against Virginia Tech.
- She made a strong impression in her first two collegiate games, leading the Phoenix in scoring in victories over High Point and Gardner-Webb.
- Angel averaged 17.5 points in her first collegiate week.
- She nearly reached a double-double against the Bulldogs with seven rebounds and 17 points.
SCOUTING STONY BROOK
- Stony Brook holds an 8-7 overall record and a 3-1 mark in CAA play after a 78-73 overtime win against Charleston.
- The Seawolves finished last season with a 28-5 overall record, 16-2 in the CAA, claiming first place in the league standings before falling to Drexel in the CAA Championship.
- This season, Stony Brook was picked to finish ninth in the CAA Preseason Poll.
- Zaida Gonzalez leads the Seawolves, ranking second in the conference with 16.3 points per game.
- Gonzalez earned CAA Player of the Week honors on Jan. 13 after setting a program single-game scoring record with 37 points and adding 10 rebounds in the overtime victory against Charleston.
- Shamaria King paces the team in rebounding with 7.1 boards per game, while Breauna Ware leads in assists, averaging 2.4 per game.
- Head coach Joy McCorvey is in her first season leading the Seawolves program.
SCOUTING HOFSTRA
- Hofstra holds an 8-7 overall record and is 3-1 in CAA play after a loss to Charleston and a win over Drexel last weekend.
- Last season, the Pride finished 11-21 overall and 3-15 in the conference, placing 13th in the league standings.
- Hofstra was projected to finish 12th in the 2024-25 CAA Preseason Poll.
- Chloes Sterling (14.7), LaNae' Corbett (12.1) and Emma Von Essen (11.9) are the team's top scorers, all averaging double-figure points.
- Zyheima Swint ranks sixth in the CAA in rebounds with 7.7 per game.
- Von Essen leads the CAA with 2.7 three-pointers per game, shooting at 31.7% from beyond the arc.
- Sterling also leads the team in assists (61) and steals (25).
- Danielle Santos Atkinson is in her sixth year as the head coach of the Hofstra program.
