ELON – The Elon women's basketball team returns to Schar Center for the start of a four-game homestand on Sunday, hosting Norfolk State. Tipoff between the Phoenix (4–6) and the Spartans (5-9) is set for 1 p.m. ET.

INSIDE THE MATCHUP
- Series record: Series tied 2-2
- This will mark the fifth all-time meeting between the Phoenix and the Spartans. The two programs last met on Jan. 31, 2001, when Elon earned a 67-61 victory.
STARTING FIVE
1. Triad Battle
- The Phoenix dropped a hard-fought, defensive battle at UNCG on Wednesday night, coming up just short in a 54-50 decision.
- Elon carried its defensive momentum forward, holding UNCG without a three-pointer in the first half while contesting perimeter looks early.
- Quinzia Fulmore continued to provide efficient offense, leading the Phoenix with 12 points and contributing on the glass.
- LaNae' Corbett paced Elon on the boards for the second time this season with six rebounds, while Laila Anderson added a season-high five.
- Corbett was active defensively as well, tying her career high with four steals, with Anderson and Ashlee Shaw each recording three.
- The Phoenix protected the paint throughout the night, as Ashanti Fox and Tyana Walker combined for four blocks, including a career high from Fox and a matched career best from Walker.
2. No Fly Zone
- Elon is a top-10 team nationally in three-point percentage defense, ranking sixth in the NCAA and limiting its opponents to just 23.8% shooting from three-point range.
- The Phoenix has held seven of its 10 opponents to shooting 25% or worse (22-132 total) from beyond the arc, most recently including UNCG on Wednesday (2-of-18).

3. Strong Inside, Been Here Before
- Quinzia Fulmore, a graduate transfer, and Corbett, a sophomore transfer, have played in the CAA before, providing the Phoenix with an experience boost among their newcomers.
- Fulmore is a powerhouse inside and continues to lead the Phoenix on the boards with 5.5 rebounds per game, which tied for 16th in the CAA. She is also tied for 18th in the CAA in blocks per game (0.6).
- Corbett leads the Phoenix offense with six double-figure scoring games this season while averaging a team-high 10.1 PPG, leading the team five times this season.
- The duo led the team in scoring at Georgetown on Nov. 24, both scoring in double figures for a combined 22 points.
- Corbett is ninth in the conference in field goal percentage at 43.2% and is also tied for 11th in the CAA, averaging 1.6 steals per game.
- At East Carolina (Dec. 7), Corbett led the team with 13 points, shooting 50% (5-for-10) from the field, while Fulmore reached double figures in rebounds for the first time this season, leading the team with 10.
- Fulmore led the Phoenix at UNCG, shooting a perfect 100% (3-for-3) from the field and making a career-high six free throws.
4. Walker In Motion
- Tyana Walker joins Corbett and Fulmore as a transfer on the Elon roster after spending her last two seasons at Howard, where she was named 2024 MEAC Rookie of the Year and was selected to the All-Rookie Team.
- Walker scored a season-best 22 points to lead the Phoenix in a loss against Tulane on Nov. 27 at the Paradise Jam, shooting 50% (8-for-16) from the floor and 67% (6-for-9) from the three-point line. She was named to the All-Tournament Team for the Harbor Division at Paradise Jam.
- Walker nearly notched a double-double in the season opener at ETSU, finishing with nine points and a career-high 11 rebounds.
- She leads the team with 15 made three-pointers, tying for 12th in the conference, and averages 1.5 per game. She also ranks 10th in the conference in three-point percentage (33.3%).
5. Bench Boost
- Elon has the second-best scoring bench in the CAA, averaging 26.9 points per game, which also ranks 57th in the nation.
- Ashanti Fox provides a spark for the Phoenix, leading all bench scorers with 7.4 points per game.
